After Marble and Equi's failed rebellion, Apex was killed at the hands of her once protective Guardian Lucis. With Earthshaker himself refusing to accept her, Apex's spirit was forced to remain in Dragonhome. Betrayed by the diety she had murdered for and by the clan she had once led, Apex was forced to haunt Cairnrest for eternity.
Eternity was cut short, however, when the pearlcatchers Eris and Discord found her. Together the two put her soul to rest. However, her sins would not allow her to stay in the afterlife, and Apex was reincarnated.
Apex, now seeking forgiveness so she can find peace, returned with the pearlcatchers to her old lair.

Apex has changed from her former self. Where she was once fanatical and cruel, she is now regretful and cautious. She is trying her best to mend her past by helping Eris and Discord in any possible act of kindness she can accomplish. A swan, found at her gravesite, follows her everywhere she goes.
