The Fire lands are no place for weakness. She learned that the hard way, when her clutchmates greeted her arrival to the world by ripping at her wings. Her father taught them to forge before they could walk, but she never had the knack for it. Her family expressed their disapproval in blows she learned to avoid.

She fled to the edges of the Fire lands, and it was there that she met a grey dragon who smelled of wind and far off places. Gorram was her first friend and in many ways her last; their hatchling mischief later sustained her in memory, because one day when she came home her Father introduced a dragon who was supposed to be her mate.

It was an empty, loveless marriage. Hallowsong never spoke of those years once they were over, but eventually she ended up on the doorstep of Robinia's clan, a set of hand-forged runestones at her hip. She is covered in scars and her fire eyes burn cold. She learned to read the runes. She is stronger now, a spine of steel.

But strength comes with sacrifice, and she is unlikely to show much emotion among her Clan mates. She is most emotive around Gorram, but he receives mostly her fury and--on better days--exasperation. He seems to think they should be able to pick up right where they left off.

She, the weight of years written out in the scars on her skin, knows better.

There's no pleasant way to say it, but Faro and Hallowsong spent the time together to vex their other partners. Taliana refused Faro's advances regarding a new clutch. Gorram was pressuring Hallow and--for entirely different reasons--Hallow and Faro thus spent a few reckless nights together in an effort to prove something (to themselves, to each other, and to the ones they really wanted to prove something to in the first place). Danyse, Thanatos, and Fisher all decided to serve the Lightweaver.
