Apollo was never meant to stay in a plague filled clan. It's true, most plague-esque things make him quite sick to his stomach. Born with very brittle bones, especially in his wings, he was unable to stay with his parents after a tragic fall caused him to badly damage one of his wings. He was sent here to recover while his big sister, Artemis, watched over him.
Arty struggled to bond with her brother while he healed. She spent most days away, tracking animals and bringing home food, but with his journey here she was forced to take a break to watch over him and fret silently. His wing healed slowly, but with every misstep and crash he seemed to have injured yet another part of himself. Raphael even attached Nala to watching him permanently to help him regain his strength and to make sure he didn't break any bones while he stayed there.
It took much pushing from the clan for Arty to leave him alone to return to her duties. Apollo tried many times to sneak away to follow her, only to get caught by the Huntress and brought back to the clan borders.
After being chastised by both his sister and Nala, he eventually settled to read in the expansive library.
