Biography
They had first thought it a hatchling, but hatchlings didn't normally prey upon or eat other dragons. What looked to be a hatchling was truely a monster with which no dragon in the Runelight Hallow had seen before. As it growled and gnawed on the flesh of what could only be assumed it's keeper, the two coatls that had found it called for help. The heavily armored one attempted to call out to the strange hatchling, but it would only snap it's maw and growl furiously at him.
Ona, a once malevolent tundra whom had had her heart and soul eaten by the Shade, swaggered out of her den to find out what or who had disturbed her. Now a Bogsneak, Ona hardly liked distractions from her alone time, but for this she was intrigued.
"This is a highly contagious virus; of which I do hope none of you got too close to her."
On her approach, the little monster seemed to have a change in heart. As if recognizing the other plague dragons, she turned from her meal and eyed Ona with a suspicion. Ona cooed softly, something motherly coming out in her. "Send for Vyrek. Tell him to bring my instruments."
Vyrek couldn't heal the hatchling, but he knew how to contain the contagion. Upon his arrive, he bickered with Ona about the safety of the clan, knowing that if he couldn't properly work the magic and the science together that the whom clan would turn into this kind of monstrosity. On top of this, he was unable to change that this was a highly volatile being. The last thing he wanted to do was put his paramour in harms way.
Ona insisted, and Vyrek could only agree to disagree. They tied her up, snarling and snapping as she was, and Vyrek worked as quickly as he could. The only true test to see if it worked was a test of faith. Ona moved the other dragons out of harms way, and approached the hatchling again.
Teeth sunk into flesh, and Ona flinched. But the hatchling didn't shake her to take a bite, but merely stared her down. Ona clenched her teeth to the pain, but she felt no adverse affect, and Vyrek detected no contagion in her body.
Ona has took the hatchling under her wings, showing no pain when the thing scratched, bit or clawed her. She showed the utmost of dominance over the diseased dragon, which seemed to in return garner some respect. Taking her home, Ona vowed to take care of the dragon.
Amara would never return to being a normal hatchling, but Ona helped her remember how to be functional again. She was covered in calming charms and talismans, and she settled down pretty quickly after a few months of proper care and training. Amara is more like a guard dog or puppy now, being coddled by her "mother" and protecting the clan from even the littlest of things. Most dragons find her endearing, with her shy demeanor and puppy-like attitude on life. But some will never forget the image of her devouring a corpse. Amara will never understand the in's and out's of those negative feelings, she often finds them confusing to her. But she will always go home to a mother who will comfort her and tell her everthing is all right now.
Qualifying Nighthowler with Grey or Black Wolf Cape.
Will eventually qualify as a relative to a 100 hatchlings challenge and a legacy challenge.
