"you belong to the stars." ╰━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╯ The star became shrouded in cosmic dust and strange light, it could feel itself changing, limbs grew and came out of a body which hadn’t been there before. It suddenly gained a mind, a consciousness, it thought and questioned things that it had never thought before. ‘Why am I here? Why do I exist? What’s happening to me? What is my purpose?’ These thoughts raced through it’s mind, one after another. Not even having time to even contemplate what was happening and why, it started to fall. The fall was gradual, as if the star was simply floating downwards. The cosmic dust and light slowly started to disappear around it, the star could start to see it’s surroundings more clearly; the sky was dark and covered in stars. ‘That’s where I should be.’ It stared up into the sky, it’s chest filling with longing and desire to return to it. The star continued to stare at the sky until it felt it’s feet touch something, realizing that it had reached the ground. It’s legs were unsteady, wobbling and threatening to fall underneath it. Outstretching its arms, it took a few steps forward, getting used to it’s new body. It stopped after walking for a while and stared up at the sky again, the longing in it’s chest becoming even stronger. It was determined, it would find a way to where it belonged. Those were Astraea’s first memories. She remembered nothing before that time, though she knew she had existed for much longer than that and was as old as time. She remembers passing out and when she woke up she had a name. How she got that name, she doesn’t know, she just had it. After weeks of wandering, she came across a clan that interested her. They invited her to stay for a few days, and when she was about to leave again, they asked her to join. Having nowhere else to go, and having taken a liking to the clan’s members, Astraea accepted. She eventually told the members of her longing and desire to be among the stars, how she knew she had once been apart of them and longed to return to them, to her home. They agreed to help in anyway that they could, and have been researching ways to help her return to her home. |
