Biography
L E V I A T H A N clan - weaponsmith standoffish | begrudging | grim |
Leviathan hails from the denser parts of the Foxfire Bramble at the borderlands between Plague and Shadow territories, where beneath the gnarled thorns the darkness is thick and oppressive. His birth clan had particularly devious tendencies, true to the negative reputation of the Shadow flight. To keep their numbers manageable, any nests hatched in the clan were nursed for mere weeks before being turned loose into the Bramble and left at the Shadowbinder’s mercy. Any hatchling who made it back alive, after foraging and hunting their own food and fighting away any hostile creatures that prey on young dragons, was worthy. Leviathan was born stubborn—he saw the bleak unfairness of this cruel game even as a young dragon, and very early on he determined that any clan that would do such a thing was not worth returning to. Leviathan had been fending for himself since he was a hatchling, and staked out his own small den and hunting territory. He was content to live that way, too…until he encountered a young Ambriel while she trained in the outskirts of Shadow territory. He mistook she and her "sisters" for a coliseum team practicing outside of a combat zone, close to his territory, no less—so he did what any self-respecting dragon would do. He attacked. However, he was young, and all of his strength was physical and animalistic—it took a simple paralyzing spell from Nisha to fell him. The three were kind, though, and despite his obvious capability, they were not about to leave a barely-adult dragon body-bound and left for the crows. So, they brought Leviathan back to Freida’s territory to heal. There was plenty of space, back in the clan’s beginning, and admittedly…they needed warriors. It was a long adjustment period, but Freida didn’t seem to mind the Guardian’s self-isolation. She allowed his undisturbed coexistence on their territory, so long as he didn’t attack his clanmates…and he upheld his end of the deal. Along the way, Leviathan discovered an interest in forging weaponry during his Coliseum training, and has since become the clan’s premiere weaponsmith. He often exhibits a tortured-soul demeanor and seldom speaks about his experiences, and is often quiet and aggressive. He is wary and even hostile toward Shadow dragons, despite being one. He pours himself into his combat alongside Petra and Sylvanas. Though very impatient, he shows great respect to his teammates, and also reconciled with Ambriel in time. He tends to focus on crafting and studying weaponry, but will occasionally return to the Coliseum with Petra and Sylvanas to vent his frustrations. |
