Marcus is...something else entirely. His egg was brewed from Baldwin’s Cauldron, and from the moment he hatched there was something strangely off about him.
As a hatchling, Marcus was often found dissecting his meals, preferring to study his prey’s organs and only eating them once they went cold. That curiosity never went away as he grew- often other dragons whisper that he would dissect them if given the chance, to the point where older hatchlings will scare younger ones by threatening that Marcus would get them if they didn’t shut up.
If Marcus knows about any of this, he says nothing. Maybe even enjoys the terrifying reputation.
Despite how creepy he can be, though, Marcus is the clan’s doctor (and surgeon to the particularly unfortunate). Thankfully, he only uses his bloodstained cleaver to dissect prey, and not for any actual operations.
However, he is not above using rather...experimental methods on his patients. No one has died under his care yet (but when you’re lying in his den and he whips out a live Noggle, you can’t help but wonder if you’re going to be the first). Even though he is an Arcane dragon, Marcus rejects the use of magic in his operations, preferring to sow gashes shut rather than using healing magic. He’s seen the effects of magical corruption in mutated Arcane creatures, and is keen to not to replicate that in any dragons.
There is definitely a strange sort of charm to Marcus, though. On the occasion when he decides to take a mate, he pursues them with a surprising amount of dedication and passion. He is startlingly suave when he wants to be, and wins just about any dragon he deems worthy enough to be with him. It’s a thrilling experience no one ever forgets after spending time with him.
