Ocean Deity

The water was dark, quiet, and calm. There was little to be disturbed by down here, where the light could scarcely pass through the ocean's blues to make it's way down to the ocean deity. Suppose that's what made the beauty of living down here. For the longest time, Kiera sang to fill the emptiness, to calm the waters above or to express her loneliness to the void. Perhaps she would even be so sneaky as to lure those crossing over her domain into the murky depths below with her voice. The ocean was a calm, yet deadly place, just like it's maker.

But one day, Kiera's quiet life was suddenly sent into a tailspun when she decided to venture to the surface. She'd found a green little area, where the water ventured past plantation and was away from land, and that's where she first saw her, the deity of nature, Luminesce herself. Never before had Kiera laid eyes upom such a beautiful being before. She had eyes as red as the shellfish she occasionally stumbled across, hair hanging loosely and full of flowers and vegetation, and body seeming to utterly shimmer. The most beautiful thing about this new deity was her smile as she greeted the quiet deity. That smile was possibly the brightest thing she'd ever seen, and yet, she fell so utterly in love with it. That smile wanted to make her sing with glee, rather than loneliness.

So she did. She came up every single day, never once hesitating, to come sing to the oblivious as ever nature being. No one spoke of how much calmer the oceans were, of how no more vistors were drawn beneath the waves. They were thankful for this moment of grace that the ocean deity had granted.
