Everest has always been larger than the other dragons his age, but he takes great pride in it. He loves the speed with which is huge wings can propel him into the sky, for it gives him great pleasure to see nothing but open sky ahead. Additionally, he is quite proud of his shimmering hide. His parents once told him (although they would never admit it) that he was the perfect hatch - that his colors were just right and he was the most beautiful they could produce. Although he has these supposedly wonderful qualities, the other dragons teased him when he was younger. This instilled in him a great desire to be the best, and as such his ambitions are high. Everest is likely to make an exceptional guard, leader, or whatever else he decides he wants to do - simply because he will make sure of it!
Heritage: Shimmering Springs
The Shimmering Springs are home to a robust court of faeries and pixies. They can be somewhat mischievous, playing tricks on the areas dragons and stealing trinkets if they are offended. One good thing has come about due to the overabundance of faeries in the area, however, and it’s how the area got its name! They have spread so much faerie and pixie dust over the years, that nearly everything has begun to shimmer - catching beautifully in the light. The addition of magical dust to the area’s water source, now deemed The Shimmering Springs, has caused the local creatures (dragons included) to have genetic mutations causing their skin, scales, or fur to shimmer in the sunlight! This effect is minimal due to how fine the dust is, but it gives them added beauty regardless. Dragons from the area are incredibly proud of their shimmering hide, and often seek partners with equally beautiful appearances to be mates. |
