Jade has been with clan Starlight since the beginning, one of the first dragons to join with Harris and Alexa when the young couple set out to carve themselves a place in Sorineth, and the only one of that number that still remains with the clan.
Jade sees her role in the clan as primarily that of morale, giving support to other dragons when they find the world weighing a bit to much on their shoulders in particular. Sometimes this takes the form of a favored food for a dragon having a bad day, or sitting with a dragon and listening as they share what's bothering them. Other times it's noticing that somedragon is upset and afraid and calming them down.
More than one dragon in the clan has spent sometime hiding beneath a comforting wing until they were ready to face the world again. Of course there has been at least one incident where Jade very much wished that she had a dragon she could hide behind - Having the Light Weaver openly renounce Imperials was ... stressful for many imperials, especially those living in a light flight already on edge due to the rampaging emperor. (Having several seers in the clan was a major relief in avoiding that terror until the flight was able to resolve that threat).
Jade being the clans primary fisherdragon was largely accidental; caused by her having enough prowess to win an argument with most Maren that took offense to her fishing in the upper ocean near the coast, a fondness for seafood, and the large carrying capacity of an imperial letting her carry back enough to share with the rest of the clan. Other dragons in the clan do fish, but they do so in the streams and rivers running through light territory, and they cannot carry back as large a load of fish as the green imperial.
