Born many moons after the potential crown heirs from a single egg nest, he grew up without worry or frets. A spoiled child, he was given anything and everything he desired without fuss or argument. Despite it's reputation, he was able to learn blood magic with all the time and practice he needed, and away from the prying eyes who would call out the taboo and morbid magic. Private tutors were his at a whim; those who cared not for his questionable abilities. As his older sister, the crown princess and only sibling he ever had a chance to meet, was almost an adult when he was born, he got most if not all of the attention from his maids and family. Alder posses great magical potential; it is not solely inherited from his blood line, but whispers say that he received it due to the fact that he was the only newborn during a day when ghosts wandered. The deathly spirits granted his abilities by their will or curse, but that is not confirmed from any party. That does not stop the talk of it from going around. He appears to have special skill for illusions, above all other forms of magic. Alder is brat, to put it in unkind terms. He gets what he wants, when he wants, and will not take no for an answer. At least, that was the case until he got the boot and was sent traveling. He found the colorful array of tents and flags that the Sheep Clan had to offer and it became his best bet at a new home. It helped that there was another blood mage there to aid in his lessons, not that he likes or even appreciates his attempts to help teach him. Pariah has never been good with kids, or young adults, or dragons in general, however. Though he assures he does not, and will not, practice necromancy, the bones he wears and general atmosphere make that hard to believe. Nor do the dead squirrels and familiars the guards keep destroying around the clan territory. The creations (not to imply they're his) are generally harmless, but certainly cause an annoyance. Lithium is tried of beating skeletons to dust, and is often caught glaring at the blood mage's tent. |
