Comet

Many dragons have forgotten what Comet's voice sounds like. They've forgotten how tortured his eyes were, how fragile his mind was. They forgot the whispering in the shadows in the middle of the night, and the eerie clicking his talons caused on the floor of their lair as he paced to and fro, insomnia and fear keeping him awake until the early hours of the morning. They have almost forgotten his uncanny ability to draw out their greatest fears, his ability to sense what things will occur before they actually do. At times they even forget that He's blind, for he seems to know where everything is at all times, even if they travel somewhere new.

He wasn't always blind. When he was young, he could see. Sharp, bright colors and subtle nuances that others found challenging to spot. He misses that, but more than anything else, he misses what it felt like to be normal. Now, he is anything but.

A simple touch when he was a hatchling sent him down the path he trekked as an adult. A curse he hadn't even realized was there until it became too late to revert its affects. A curse that eventually proved to be a mixed blessing; he wasn't quite sure if everything he went through was worth the end result.

He crossed paths with Raven when he was three. He hadn't heard of her past doings when he met her, he only noticed how unusual she looked compared to everyone else. She was the largest of her breed, her eyes were unusually colored. Her mane had zebra stripes of neon orange mixed in, and a glare that could've ended the tribal wars was pasted on her face. She was not one to be messed with, but he was a child and didn't know that.

He ran to her and brushed his talons against one of her wings. An electric shock ran through his claws and pinpricks of light overtook his vision. He saw what she had done in her past, saw what she was capable of in the future. When the lights faded and his mind cleared an awful headache took it's place and she was nowhere to be found; black and orange feathers hung in the air where she had been, creating a symbol he didn't know the meaning of. That was when it started.

The simplest of touches would send him pinwheeling into that dragon's past and possible future. Headaches tortured his mind, so painful that he began isolating himself to avoid it. His wings were always folded behind his back, his tail curled around his body. Simply being in the same room with a crowd of other dragons was agony for him, even if they never touched him. But that wasn't the worst part.

Every time he came out of a vision his eyes seemed to crack. Twin mirrors that slowly shattered over time, the bad luck that Raven was so famous for. If he ever saw her again he'd make her pay for what she did to him, accidental or not.

When Comet ran into Illusion, the mirror like surface on his eyes completely shattered, raining little fragments on his talons. Immediately Illusion rushed to his aid and led him back to his clan to recooperate, retreating into his study to figure out what the glass was all about. Little did they know that the source of the problem was already there, waiting to be found.

A few days after Comet was blinded, his eyes started changing. They became reflective like a cat's, and started glowing dully. Little snowflakes started falling wherever he went, melting on the ground where he stepped. But the biggest change of all wasn't noticeable to the eye. It was only noticeable to Comet.

Accidentally brushing into a dragon didn't send him into visions anymore. The pain was gone, as well as the bursts of light that came with it. A new sensation overtook him instead, the knowledge of knowing where he was going and what lay ahead without seeing a thing. Avoiding objects was something he could do now; even if something was moved to a new place he knew where it was instinctively and could avoid it as if he could see it. The skittishness he had fallen into gradually disappeared once he felt comfortable with his new ability.

A day came when Comet could sense which dragons were around him. Before he had only known that someone was there, not who that someone was, and what he noticed shocked him. He had been sharing the lair with the dragon who had done this to him and he hadn't known until now. She was always so quiet, so agile. She never made a sound, never so much as ruffled her feathers when she was near him. But now he knew and he was furious.

When he confronted her, he had venom laced in his tone. His sightless eyes burrowed into her own, his voice demanding and accusatory, but her face was serene and she just stared down at him with her eyes narrowed until he finished. Then she lowered her head and gave him a taste of his own medicine, her speech a low, threatening growl that made his harsh tone seem anything but. You think I did this to you on purpose, don't you? she clucked her tongue, turned away from him. That shows how much you know.

mage, or fighter?

Somehow I rolled primal first try. Sweet!

Primal will give this Dragon some cool power but I have no idea what that'll be.
