Biography

Moraxella
Job: Plague Priest and Researcher
Eliminate
Ancestral Incense
Plague Sprite

To the dragon known only as "Moraxella", it had always been a pity hearing of clans without a proper Plague priest--particularly one trained in the true ways. So when the perennial Riot of Rot spread to even the furthest reaches of Sornieth, he left the monastery he had studied for so long in, and went wherever his paws (and the whispers of the Mother) would take him. But where they took him was not a clan in the Scarred Wasteland, not to yet another Plague clan that had lost its way...

...It was the Shifting Expanse. How curious. But he wouldn't question Her will; no true priest would. If he was meant to spread Her word to foreign clans, then so be it. He owed Her nothing but his best efforts, and until his voices told him he was to stay, he would continue to wander.

But he found them, eventually, here on this ship. He even challenged their leader, to prove his worth to them, and the sparkblood actually beat him. (She might be a creature of thunder and lightning in body, but in his opinion, the Wasteland's savage influence on all of Mirror-kind still left its unmistakable mark on her soul. She was more than worthy of his admiration, even as a Lightning dragon through and through.) Some of the others seemed surprised that he would even want to stay after she thrashed him so badly that it took him a week to recover, but...he saw those more familiar with the morals of the truest Plague dragons understanding. Had Shogoki not said it herself, as he bled to unconsciousness? If he was as purest Plague, he would not die, and he would have shown himself worthy of his place here.

And show himself worthy, he did. Quite an initiation, he heard the First Mate snickering once, but he wears the scars as proudly as he wears any of the others. Why should he be ashamed of them? He knows that there are others here who won't understand, but his teachings are of survival and adaptation, and his scars and various adornments are testaments to both. It shows his dedication to Her word, and after all, if he is to continue teaching the Ways to this eclectic group of strangers, he must even look the part.

Of course, not everyone is quite so receptive to his preaching. They all tolerate him, yes, but some of them have their own gods or a distinct dislike for the gods as a whole, much to his dismay. However dismayed he may get, though, he won't force his teaching onto anyone; it makes him no better than a Beastclan heathen, and while he is quite dedicated to the Plaguemother, he can't be described as an extremist. The only true worshippers of the Mother are those who accept Her words and Her blessings willingly, in his eyes, and he would not desecrate Her name by attempting to convert foreigners by force. And until the recalcitrant come to him for aid, he will simply do as he does, while maintaining the small but lovingly-crafted shrine that he has made in Her name. And while he may look intimidating, the braver hatchlings find his presence desirable, even...what was the word? "Cool". It is more than enough, for a Plague priest. He even offers some form of counseling for anyone (even Nature dragons) that ask him for it, though those that seek him out for such things will need to be prepared for change, and lots of it. Even when speaking of the mind, he prefers to keep to his deity's principles of adaptation at the forefront.

...And while he's here, he will continue to assist this clan for more research-oriented purposes, too. Their resistance to allowing disease to bloom and flourish naturally in their ranks may bother him, but they are surprisingly interested about studying it in more controlled environments, and he is happy to oblige. (Whether their interest is from pure curiosity, defense, or offense matters not to him. The Mother's gifts are to simply be spread; the cause and reasoning of the opportunities in which he gets to do so is irrelevant.)
