Abyssal's life began at the end of his parent's relationship. He was the last born of their last nest, which meant he was ignored. If that wasn't enough he and his siblings were often deemed unworthy of the clan's attention. His father Yonsin was sent off to serve the Tidelord, as he was seen as unworthy to be in the Lightweaver's presence, while his other siblings were sent off to the auction house by their mother and left there for any dragon to purchase and do as they pleased before meeting up with her new mate from an Arcane clan without them.



He watched as his other siblings were sent off with promises of being granted a better life. Abyssal however soon learned that dragons like those normally meant to make him and his siblings spend the rest of their lives serving the deity the older dragons were loyal to. Still, he didn't know the way home and if he went back there he would surely be sent away again. Finally, a dragon from a Lightning clan picked him up in their claws and paid the meager price for him before flying back to their home. Abyssal was sure he was going to die there.



A surprise awaited him however when he was cared for along with some of the other hatchlings in the clan. When he was old enough he was even given a task to make himself useful, though he wasn't sure what they would do with him if he proved incompetent. Abyssal had a good life going for him and even had a nest with a mirror named ElgeyStar, who unfortunately didn't live to seeing their nest hatch. He cared for his hatchlings as best he could but watched them grow up, one leaving to Earthshaker's land while the other son left to be put to work with Stormcatcher.



Everything started turning out badly after that. His claws became ripe with electricity after an accident within the clan and while good in a fight still hurt occasionally. His clan also began to break apart, dragons going their separate ways as food became scarce. Abyssal ran off before anyone could suggest making him serve the deity of any clan. Fear filled him and he avoided any dragon clans that he crossed paths with until he couldn't run anymore from hunger and sleep deprivation, eventually passing out in the middle of sneaking through Plaguebringer's domain.



When Abyssal woke up he was in a den with a pink and white imperial tending to herbs beside a purple and green nocturne. Upon seeing he was awake they quickly explained how a hunting expedition had found him and brought him back where they, Cupid and Rhea as they introduced themselves, treated him. He got up and tried to leave, unsure if he should trust these dragons despite their help, but his shaky legs couldn't hold his weight and he was forced to lay back down.



By the time he was well enough to travel again Abyssal had grown used to the dragons in Death Clan. While he was still cautious around them and never formally announced as a member, he will sleep in a small den at the edge of the main camp and hunt for the other dragons as well. The other dragons tend to leave him to himself or interact with others as he pleases, which is something Abyssal is grateful for. Currently he has decided to stay within the Plague clan for a while.
