When an Imperial dies in the Misty Cliffs clan, it is stripped of flesh and sinew. Most dragons of the clan are given a sky burial in the tradition of the harpies and talonok that they share their lair with, but Emperors are not a risk they are willing to take. Imperial corpses are reduced to bone, the pieces split apart. Flesh is burned, ashes scattered on the ocean breeze, and the individual bones alone are left to be picked clean by scavengers so that the remaining magic they hold can dissipate into the open air before they are interred with the rest of the clan's dead.
