Personality: Noire is a very cynical being. Most of the time, he only ever cares for himself. Though, around Grimm's clan, he comes off as a lot more pleasing, it is only in appearance to keep tension in the clan away from him. The only dragon he has ever shown to care for is Lilavati.

Tales of Terror Battered Book of Fables Enchanted Candle Scary Storybook

✦ STORY ✦
"It's almost as if a demon might have passed from one host to another"

Most dragons don't think much of those scary myths they tell their hatchlings so they will behave. The boogey derg isn't real, and neither is the mad beast under the rug. A slightly less known tale, that hardly any dragon tells anymore, is the tale of the trick dragon. It is said that the trick dragon likes to watch hatchlings, making sure that they behave, otherwise a nasty trick will be played on them. Mother dragons would tell their hatchlings the trick dragon would do something along the lines of stealing their supper for a night, or knocking on the cave walls to keep the hatchlings from falling asleep. There are a few old, almost illegible now story books that might tell a different story though. Stories of the trick dragon being a demon, who's soul purpose is to attach itself to a dragon to mercilessly ruin this dragons life until they break. Before these stories could explain how though, their pages have been mysteriously teared away. Not many know of the story anymore, so it hardly matters, right?

The real world is a lot more complicated than it seems though. Magic is alive in the air, and demons slip right under the noses up unwitting dragons. Ever since their creation, not all dragons were good, and their dastardly deeds and ill will started to manifest themselves. It wasn't long until, inevitably a demon dragon was created. Scary stories had to have come from somewhere, right?

This is where Noire started. With a bubbling laughter, and a wisp of smoke, slowly coming together to create a physical form. The new dragon slithered through this new world, seeking out other dragons. At first, he was not sure why, but as soon as another dragon was spotted, Noire knew what to do on pure instinct. He watched and waited, finding the dragon's true weakness. Then, slowly, he would use that against them, taking away from them what made them unique, how they identified themselves. Noire fed off the following misery, making it last as long as he could until the victim dragon was the cause of it's own undoing.

This happened for centuries, his skills becoming greater as time passed, able to feed from multiple dragons at once and finding that he was gaining more and more power to do as he pleased with each new victim. That was, until a group of magic users started to catch on to his schemes. It was a long battle with the much more powerful demon dragon, but the magic users were strong enough together to pull the demon away from his victims and seal him inside a magical tome. They could not kill him, but they would hide and protect the tome for as long as they were able.

For a long time after Noire was sealed inside his tome, the world changed around him. His stories became myth that mothers told to their hatchlings, and the mages that once watched over him withered away as fewer and fewer dragons believe he ever even existed. soon, his existence was a joke, and his tome forgotten. Though, with his tome unprotected, he was inevitably found again.

Strano was the first person to find his tome, and Noire thought it a strike of good luck in his own seemingly unending eternity for boredom. The dragon came to him asking for power. No, he was desperate for it. Noire, only able to whisper through the pages of his tome in writing, struck a deal with this dragon. Strano, not bothering to read through their deal, accepted eagerly. Noire then watched as Strano writhed and squirmed in pain as magical changes started happening to his body, finding it wise to stay in his tome for the time being, although the deal had broken him free. The pain and changing was entirely unnecessary, of course. But after so much time spent tied up, Noire needed a little entertainment in his life.

After Strano went off to do whatever it was he needed his powers for, Noire hid in his shadow, regaining his powers from the misery of others. He watched Strano, admiring his work, in a way that only made him want to break the destructive dragon even more.

After letting Strano have his fun, and having gained enough power for himself, Noire came back to strano. He knew that Strano lived off of and craved the destruction he created in the world. So, he decided to take that all away. With his own magic, he sealed the murderous dragon away in a purple orb. The dragon would be able to see any dragon who picked him up, but would be helpless and unable to do anything. Maybe it was payback for the years Noire spent trapped in a book, but the demon dropped the orb that was now Strano, and left him be to be found by someone else.

Many years passed, and Noire continued to do what he did best. He had a long time to think about what he had done wrong the first time, and this time would make sure he went unnoticed. All the while, he was still feeding off of Strano's misery from his prison.

Somewhere along his journey, Noire came across a young nocturne dragon. Although he was entirely uninterested in her, and tried walking away, the young dragon attached to him for some reason. Begrudgingly, he hunted to feed her when she wouldn't stop mentioning how hungry she was every few minutes. As she followed him, and finding that she would become hungry often and ask for more, he taught her how to hunt for herself so she would stop bugging him about it. Eventually, Noire learned her name was Lilavati, and got used to her presence.

Noire let Lilavati stick with him as long as she could keep up and not bother him too much. Though, he found he didn't really have to worry too much. She seemed really interested in the world around her and liked to travel. Once she got older, Noire was delighted to learn she was interested in the dead, but then confused when she specified she wanted to bring them back to life. Although he didn't understand it at first, he was curious enough to follower her around on her endeavors. Besides, he never had any destination in mind, so going wherever Lilatavi went was no problem.

Along their travels, Noire came across Strano's orb again. It seemed the dragon was still alive and very infuriated. He could feel the power coming from him, still having been feeding off his misery all this time. It was best when being so close though. Finding him again gave Noire a great idea. He hid the orb while Lilavati was asleep, in a cave he knew she was headed to. He planted some real looking fake magical runes and tomes around the orb, making it look like some magical find of something great. Then he left the orb there for Lila to find.

Later, when Strano was released from his orb by the magical words Lilavati spoke, Noire was very please with his work. Lila had done most of the work her herself though. The words Noire had put in the instructions for Lilavati to say would prevent Strano from hurting anyone unless Lila or himself instructed it, continuing his misery, as well as made it impossible for him to speak anything of knowing anything about Noire. Lilavati did not know about him being a demon, and he planned to keep it that way.

Now all Noire has to do it sit back, watch, and anjoy.
