Cantarella was one of three hatchlings, the first nest her mother had with her new mate. She, just like her twin sister Xavarie, burst out of her egg, shaking and burning with energy. But unlike Xavarie, young Cantarella was not interested in books or scrolls, scripts or written words. She was a wild child, full with passion and fire and always curious. She had a born talent for finding even the most hidden things, finding access in everything, no matter how good it was locked away. Had she grown up with her parents and her sibling, Cantarella would mostlike end up as a warrior or hunter, but fate had something different planned for her. The young girl found her way into the satchels of a travelling merchant, when the dragon took a short break at her clan. Unknown to the merchant, she travelled hidden in the satchels, wasn't discovered until the dragon stopped at the next clan, this time on the mainland, right at the borders of Fire and Wind. The tiny hatchling was kicked out, for she had damanged the good while her staying in the satchel and the merchant was a choleric one. Before he could snatch her up and shout at her, small Cantarella run away, hide in the bamboo until the angry dragon had grown tired and went away. A long and troublesome time followed for Cantarella. She was only a hatchling, too young and fragile to live entirely on her own, but too wild for any clan to keep. She acted more like a wild beast than a dragon, so she stayed always at the outskirts Clanterritories, only to sneak in during the night and steal food or herbs. This way, Cantarella quickly turned ruthless and pragmatic, the only luxury she allowed herself to have was the lapislazuli necklace, a jewel that make her faintly remember of her mother. When she stole this piece of jewelry, she almost got caught and had to travel away from her preferred territory to avoid getting detected. Cantarella found her way into the Wastelands, into the Lair of Plague-Fang. Using the countless empty caves at her advantage, the young Skydancer sneaked in during nighttime, hide herself in one of them away, only coming out when she needed food or had to stretch her wings. For some time, everything went just fine, until one day, Cantarella was caught while she tried to steal food. Luckily for her, Feuerherz - who had caught her - saw the talent that slumbered in Cantarella. Instead of turning the young female in, Feuerherz recruted her, make her one of her countless spys, assassins, scouts. A chance, that Cantarella gladly took. The skydancer is still a wild and curious thing, she is - away from the battlefields and contracts - a very social character, but also flighty, quick to change her mood and opinion. |
