Biography
VoLtAiRE
"I tell ya, there're scarier things out there than what you might be thinkin' of. Here, lemme tell ya a story..."
Bard - Great great grandson of Naomi. (Naomi > Willow > Oblivion > Aspen > Voltaire) - Glitchy powers; allows him to teleport, though a sharp crackle will usually alert others of his position. It's something he's learning to control, and he doesn't say much of where he ends up mid teleport. It's...probably for the best, if the way he avoids the subject is any indication. Bio Voltaire had always been a bit of an odd one, even among his siblings. He knew well of what he was, much like his sisters; his father was certain to tell them of what kind of powers they possessed from a young age, and made sure to tell them to be careful with them. Their powers were far more subtle, thanks to their diluted bloodline, but even the most subtle of powers can go haywire with enough time and imbalance. Aspen only wanted the best for his children, despite the instability associated with their bloodline. Education on it was the first step in the process. Voltaire, however, didn't have much interest in learning the boring parts like how 'dangerous' and 'weird' it could be. What he did like to learn was the stories behind such disasters with as much detail as he could get. He liked to hear about them and adapt them into song, to retell them to the masses that visited the Bazaar and entertain the people there with stories of long ago in the form of song. He adored the attention he got, and it shaped his personality; a very casual, breezy person who can melodize on a dime, and someone who lacks any care for what tomorrow will bring. He lives in the present, and he adores it. Even so, Voltaire wanted to see the world first and foremost. Even with people coming around and enjoying his stories, he wanted to find out more about his abilities and perhaps even more stories about the world at large. Though he leaves the safety of the nest, he holds his little neck high as he travels off; he knows he's gonna do some great things. Even if his first order of business will probably be how to incorporate his power into his music...for better or for worse. History Unfortunately for Voltaire, the warnings of his father proved more important than he ever thought. Caught in the midst of a terrible storm while crossing through the Stormchaser's territory, Voltaire was struck by lightning and his powers rose to the levels of his grandmother and for a blazing, terrifying instant, the little fae was able to see and hear the very fabric of existence around him in all it's beautiful, mind bending glory and cacophony. When he awoke he was surprised to find that he hadn't passed on to the realm of the Tidelord. Instead, he found himself gazing up at the most beautiful fae he had ever seen in his short but eventful life. Having found him, injured and unconscious, the girl had managed to pull him to cover and tend his wounds. She introduced herself as Dapple, a courier who had gotten lost in the same storm that nearly claimed him. Fascinated by each other and the many stories they had to share, the two stayed together while Voltaire healed. Voltaire was shocked to find that the lightning strike had altered him. His powers had quieted but there was a lingering feeling to them like he could still just faintly hear the beautiful chaotic music the fabric of existence made. He was also startled to find that his appearance had changed, his birdlike markings becoming much blockier and, most of all, his eyes showing a magic that responded directly to the intensity of his voice. The most exciting part of his new powers, he found, was the ability to alter his voice in ways no other dragon could, glitching and warping the sound of it until he could produce musical tones never heard before. Once Voltaire had recovered and was able to fly strongly again, the two fae went their separate ways, Dapple having to return to her duties, but Voltaire found he couldn't stop thinking about her. Even with the curiosity of having to discover the extent of what being struck by lightning had done to him, he couldn't get her out of his mind. He found himself searching for her, hoping every cluster of fae would include the familiar face and swishy scarf. By sheer coincidence the two ran into each other once again in Lightning territory. To Voltaire's surprise and joy, Dapple hadn't been able to forget him, either, and had been searching for him every chance she could between courier jobs. The two found a home together, right there in the Stormcatcher's realm, and have been inseparable ever since. |
