Biography
ITHEL
Clan Defense
Clan Defense
A roving female who settled down at The Cell as a young adult.
10/31/16 Ithel always pictured herself as a huntress. She joined The Cell believing that she would be quickly made a lead in the food gathering expeditions. To her surprise there were several dragons here that could hunt quite adeptly, and further, they knew how to locate edible plants and nab fish and insects. For a time Ithel felt out of place and grew introspective, but upon the gentle prodding of the clan elder, Drone, she soon discovered she had a knack for battle which led her to find her place among the nesting ground defense effort rather than the hunting party.
11/06/16 Ithel and Teagarden's first clutch consisted of two energetic hatchlings. The girl resembled her mother, but with the bright wisteria wings of her father. The boy was a fleshy brown color boasting dark, midnight wings that shone with the slightest hint of blue in the moonlight. 11/07/16 There were times when Ithel's mate, Teagarden, would return to the nesting grounds with no food, full of holes from the teeth and arrows of the Beastclans. Likewise, there were times when the hunt would bring in a cornucopia of wealth, yet it would be Ithel who, with fresh injury, would limp to dinner. Thus was life in the Scarred Wasteland. It was brutal, yet it was persistent. A reminder of the duality of life. Life was both fragile and unrelentingly strong. |
11/12/16 "The water...." Ithel mused to herself. Mirrors were not known for their deep thoughts, but something had been on her mind since the run in with the Bogsneak. She ruminated on how prey would often fall into Drone's craters time and time again, but when the craters were filled with water...the Bogsneak had ambushed her. There was something there, but what was it? What could this knowledge mean for The Cell?
Teagarden had vague feelings about this when she told him, but he too was perplexed, and he too could not shake the notion from invading his thoughts. "The water," he would repeat. Mirrors were like ants; dull when left to their own devices, yet brilliant in droves, and soon all the Mirrors at The Cell were repeating these words. "The water." It then dawned on Ithel-- They could dig a moat around the nesting grounds. This would both slow invading Beastclans and allow for the Bogsneak to attack (if he felt the inspiration to do so, for Bogsneaks were fairly lazy).
The very next day, every Mirror began to dig alongside the Ridgeback, who, was somewhat confused by their sudden interest in tunneling. When he heard that they wished to make more watering holes, he told them to dig down at least to the clay, for that would hold water just like the Bogsneak's lair, and thus as the rains slowly filled in their efforts, The Cell soon boasted a fluid mosaic of winding lakes and the dragons that moved about them.
