Biography
TEAGARDEN
Alphas' second-in-command | Lead Hunter | Founding Dragon
Alphas' second-in-command | Lead Hunter | Founding Dragon
Many wondered why he had come to the Wasteland, but few asked.
10/14/16 The farther the black dragon charged into the Scarred Wasteland, the paler it grew. It was not that its skin was changing in color but that the beige fascia that covered the beast's muscle was becoming apparent through splitting skin. Between the aggressive immune system reaction and the blaring pink eyes, it had become quite evident to onlookers that this was no native of the Wasteland. The beings of the Scarred Wasteland lived symbiotically with the viruses, but foreigners oftentimes had trouble with the rampant disease of the realm, their immune systems not primed for the wealth of novel antigens. Nonetheless the dragon continued undeterred. Opportunistic spectators did not seem to measure its presence as a threat but with more of a bored interest in food. The dragon did not fall, however.
Bonejack too observed the foreign creature as casually as any other being of the Wasteland, but something about the pink of its eyes triggered a memory; the lesser clan leader recalled the musings of an older dragon that he had overheard some time ago. What was it about those pink eyes? The Arcane dragons... The Mire. Of course, this was a dragon that, with a little training and the blessings of Mother, could aide his budding clan through The Mire. Upon stopping the creature and speaking with him, Bonejack gathered that this was a young male who had left the Starfall Isles; it was not any clearer to him why this youth had ventured here, but it was no matter. The Arcane dragon called Teagarden had been fool hearty enough to run rampant through the Wasteland, and that was good enough for Bonejack. |
10/15/16 Teagarden was learning much from the clan's expeditions into the woodlands, like when to exert effort on an attack and when to be patient, conserve energy and let the quarry bleed out. He was learning the Mirror art of a swift, coordinated assault. Oh, and kill the healers first.

10/17/16 Teagarden couldn't have come upon The Cell with more perfect timing. Despite his youth and inexperience, he was one of the first adult members of the lesser clan and for that reason had become one of its primary hunters. He and Bonejack made for an agile, vicious team and, with a growing pack of mouths to feed, their expeditions were numerous and drive tireless. On account of the diversity of the clan, Teagarden had learned to fish and catch insects, to hunt and harvest plants, though it seemed that even the herbivores of the clan would accept carrion so long as they did not have to partake in the hunt. The term "vegetarian" it seemed meant more of "scavenger" here in the Wasteland. Traditional plant eaters such as the Tundra dragons may not have had the enthusiasm to chase down prey, but the death of life was seen as merely the breakdown of cellular functions of an organism, and perhaps it was not even ruminated on to that degree. Regardless, it did not matter the richness of life that was taken. Only food mattered and subsistence, and scavengers thought nothing of the former lives of their meals.
10/20/16 Upon HearseSong's first flight, the hunting pair of Bonejack and Teagarden had become a hunting party. Teagarden had frequently brought back small prey to the nesting grounds for the hatchlings to hunt, and while Maro and Hassil seemed little more than mystified by the wounded creatures, at long last Teagarden's effort had paid off in HearseSong. As quick as the Mirrors were on the ground, HearseSong was in the sky. The trio had become so successful in bringing down delicious Zeeba and other game that roving hunters joined their band. The hunting party was soon a hunting coalition and with Teagarden's expertise in food, their group became both a jack and master of all trades.
12/10/16 Teagarden's Nochnyr had become one of his closest companions. At first he saw it no different than some sort of a land vulture, always tailing him and the hunting party for the scraps of their kills, but eventually he became excited when he spotted the strange, bony creature trotting up in the distance. He found something of a kindred spirit in the scrappy jackal.
