Reed is a huge beast, dripping with pond water, covered in algae and weeds, his paws filthy and muddy. His whiskers drag through the slime as he emerges from the pond. He holds a dripping basket in his teeth, full of plants from deep in the cold water and a handful of crayfish snipping their little claws. He makes his way to a Bogsneak sitting at a fire, stirring a cauldron. He drops the basket at her feet and rumbles a deep purr as he nuzzles against her cheek.

Reed never speaks. He walks behind Sundew in the rare cases they come to town. The only sounds he makes are deep purrs, growls, and hisses. He seems happy, usually? It can be tough to differentiate the purrs and growls. He's affectionate with Sundew, often rubbing his muzzle on her face or fins. He's protective of her apprentice, Forest, curling his huge body around him. He adores mushrooms, wordlessly begging Sundew to buy them at the little farmer's market in town, and devouring them whole and raw.

Some say Reed was born in that lake in the woods. Some say he's a kelpie in dragon form. Some say he's a golem-like thing made by Sundew, a creature of weeds and sludge and water. No one's really sure where he came from, only that he seems to be Sundew's mate. Or perhaps just her assistant, or an especially strange roommate. Either way, he's only ever seen with her, and spends most of his time underwater.
