A water dragon turned plague, Jasper is rightly one of the most feared dragons in the Aespana faction. Although the wiry skydancer is physically quite frail, her magickal capabilities far exceed any dragon's in the surrounding lands. From a young age Jasper was weak. She looked as if her entire body was just skin and bones, and her feathers were always torn and limp. No amount of medicine or food seemed to do anything for her condition. Eventually, Jasper was forced to accept the fact that she would always be the weakest of her clanmates. Because of this, she tended to be picked on by the other hatchlings. It didn't take long for Jasper to detest both her body, and the clanmates who constantly teased her about it. For what she lacked in strength or beauty, the skydancer made up for in magick. It brought her great joy to finally see her own abilities surpass those of her peers. It didn't stop the harassment though. But at the very least, Jasper knew that she had beat them at something. And by the Gods, she was going to keep it that way. No one would be stronger than her. However water magick alone was.. quite limiting. If she wanted to be stronger, she would need a more powerful element. A more fear-inducing element. Plague would do well, is that not what the Plaguebringer wanted? For the strong to survive and the weak to perish for the greater good? |

Her first creation was a tragedy. The Imperial had woken from death's slumber but he did not obey her. He couldn't see who had brought him back, he probably wasn't even aware. Oh, she had tried to save it, offering bribes and empty promises in an desperate attempt for her creation to be of any use... but it was in vain. Shen had the mind of a lost hatchling. Useless. She chased him out into the wilds beyond Aespana, where he still wanders, aimlessly. But Jasper had learned from her mistakes. It wouldn't happen again. And indeed, it didn't. Carmine was perfect. Just like one of her golems, but with real, genuine life! The enormous beast followed her wherever she went, (as long as Jasper requested it to) and remarkably, Jasper found it much easier to convince others to carry out her will when her 'daughter' was around. Those who still refused were... taught a small lesson in manners. She is also joined by her servant, Otiven, although the orange Pearlcatcher is quite the annoyance. Her servant has a slight obsession her, to say the least. But whether or not Otiven's interest is romantic or purely professional admiration, Jasper doesn't care. He can stay as long as he does his job, she has no time to cater to his petty interests. As for Shen, Jasper doesn't know what happened to him. And she doesn't care. There is no place for the weak in Aespana, Valentine has made sure of that. And Jasper has vowed to serve the Queen as best she can, whether her Majesty requires poisons, potions, or golems. There's no finer works than Jasper's, and it's going to stay that way, she'll make sure of it. |
