 BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! The crash of explosions is often the sound associated with this pearlcatcher and even more often how new dragons meet him. Opalite is an Arcane mage whose practice revolves around the not-so-quiet creation of powerful, destructive magics, and unfortunately for the rest of his clan, his motto is “practice makes perfect.” Meaning that they are often putting effort into fixing things damaged by new spells gone astray. Lucky for him, they love the fireworks that come before the work. Besides, they know that the perfection of his magic just means better light shows when the flight holidays roll around.

Opalite took up magic at a young age. As a hatchling, those around him saw that he had a natural talent for picking up on the natural energies around him and a keen understanding of the stars. He was pushed to pursue great things in this talent, and while his brothers and sisters were being taught how to hunt and fight, he was learning how to create balls of different types of energy and how to aim them, charting and reading the stars. He envied his siblings and the time they got to spend doing acrobatics in the air and beating up practice dummies. He was taught both things, but in briefer, more serious sessions so he could get back to his studying. He was told not to worry about easier tasks because his talent in magic would make his whole life easier. Though frustrated, his love of the magic kept him going.

Now, Opalite is a powerful mage. He has mastered several different types of energy and continues to push in new directions with those and energies that he does not know as well. Plus, his clanmates' love of explosions gives him more excuses to blow things up than he needs.
