The sand squished between his claws, getting underneath his nails. A salty breeze stung his eyes, forcing him to blink as he stared out into the darkening horizon ahead of him. There was no other way to say it; he was lost. He had foolishly left his home clan in on the search of finding his Charge, and look where that got him. He had been blinded by all the tales of others venturing off into the world, having great adventures and finally finding their purpose. Nobody ever told of the hardships.
And now... he was completely and utterly lost. He had already been searching for... ages. Days? Weeks? Months? He didn't know. He let out a long sigh that had been building in his lungs for days now. There was always the option of going off and serving a god, but that would render him forever incomplete. He didn't want that, that was giving up. So instead he resolved to wander aimlessly on blind hope that either he would find his charge, or his charge would find him.
Somehow, by some miracle, two Skydancers found him just as he was on the verge of giving in. One was named Regalia, the other Ichor. He said he had no home, only a name. Almaric. The pair graciously took Almaric into their humble home, and immediately accepted him. He felt very safe and welcome, and it almost took away the ache of being away from his Charge. Out of gratitude, he would guard their territory, living up to his breed's name.

Almaric breathed in the clear air with a contented sigh. The sun was shining down gently and birds were chirping. Today would be an easy day, no doubt. He was in no hurry, so he leisurely patrolled his home. Just as always. Just then, a few tree branches rustled. Almaric tensed, though he was sure it was probably nothing more than a grey squirrel. Of course it wouldn't be. To his immense surprise, a large black and blue Guardian stumbled out of the undergrowth, looking disheveled.
He could only stand there in shock as the Guardian righted herself, and straightened. "Ah. Didn't see you there. Sorry if I startled you." She seemed sheepish. Almaric gathered himself and managed to utter, "You didn't. May I help you? Are you lost?" Upon hearing the words, she brightened. "Actually, yes! I am... very lost. Would you happen to know directions to the nearest... civilization?" He regretfully shook his head. "There's no civilization around here for a few good miles, sorry. The closest one is that way, but it's quite far."
She paused, looking discouraged. Almaric couldn't help but feel very empathetic, as he stood in her claws only a few months ago. "Here, why don't you come to my home? You can rest and figure out what to do next."
She blinked. "You'd do that for me? Thank you, that's so kind of you." She seemed genuinely surprised. He looked away, now feeling a bit awkward. "Yeah sure, no problem. Follow me."
They fell into line beside each other, almost like they were meant to do that. "So, what's your name? Mine is Kimuri, by the way."
"Almaric. Nice to meet you, Kimuri." He gave her a quick glance. Something was different about her, just being near her made a certain ache ease a little. "I'm sorry but, have we ever met? I feel like... I know you."
Kimuri remained silent for a moment, giving him a good look. "I don't think so, but I feel like that too. How peculiar. Well, I'm sure we'll become good friends then." Looking at her smile, he couldn't help but agree.

Almaric is most definitely who the term 'gentle giant' was modeled after. He can try and tell you that he's tough, but once you see him playing with the hatchlings you'll know otherwise. Ever since his retirement from the position of being a leader, he spends most of his time gardening or relaxing with his mate, Kimuri.

However, don't make the mistake of thinking he's completely harmless. Almaric is far from harmless. Not just because of his size, he is one of the strongest dragons in the clan.
He decided he would train in the coliseum with a team consisting of Kimuri, Aelia, and himself as a line of defense if the time ever called for it. He's not as strong as he'd like to be yet, but just you wait.

Back when the clan was still small, Regalia and Ichor had wanted to travel the world and see what it had to offer. They couldn't do that tied down by a clan, so they asked Almaric and Kimuri to take over for them. The mates agreed, of course, but were sad to see their friends go. The clan still thrived and grew under their rule, and the pair helped shape it into what it is today. Later, the next pair of leaders arrived and Almaric and Kimuri stepped down. Cleo and Xylon ruled for a while, until eventually, the founders returned and reclaimed their rightful positions.

Almaric studied the rose that grew in the flowerpot in his room. "You could use a bit more light, couldn't you?" He mumured, moving it to a well-lit window. He smiled, brushing the leaves a little. He enjoyed his simple life. "If everyone else could see you now..." Kimuri teased lightly, reclining in a comfortable chair while reading a book. He rolled his eyes good-naturedly. "Everyone knows that I'm not to be messed with." He retorted with an indignant huff. His mate raised her brow. "Everyone knows that you'd cuddle an enemy to death before hurting it." She smiled, challenging him to contradict her. "Oh please. All Beastclans are terrified of me." Almaric smiled back, moving to lay down next to her.
"Hey! You're squishing me!" She exclaimed, shifting over. He loved times like these, where he could simply just... be with her. "Anyways, I've been thinking..." Kimuri trailed off.
Almaric faced her curiously. "Yes...?" He encouraged her to continue. "Now that Regalia and Ichor are back... we now don't have an actual role."
Almaric narrowed his eyes suspiciously. "If you're trying to get us working again, I enjoy our life of retirement."
"We're not even old yet!" Kimuri protested in fond exasperation. "What I'm proposing is... a.... council of sorts. A council of advisors, for Regalia and Ichor. If they need any help or advice, that's what we're there for."
Almaric cocked his head. It wasn't a bad idea... "Who else would join then?"
Kimuri pondered for a moment. "Cleo and Xylon, because they were the leaders after us. Perhaps Harmony, she's a fantastic diplomat. And... Aelia? She's trained with tactics and strategy like us."
Almaric nodded slowly in response. "Well, I mean, I don't see why not." Kimuri beamed. "Great! Let's go pitch the idea to Regalia and Ichor then!" She leapt up, already out the door.
He sighed and followed his mate. What had he gotten himself into?
