Although James is an intelligent wizard, capable of casting a wide variety of spells - he still prefers to simply live as a butler and take care of the Study Quarters and its residents. It's James who makes sure that the scholars remember to eat and rest. It's James who check on them if they haven't left their study for a while and so on.

He is very loved among his home quarters, but also at the market square where he frequently shops for fresh ingredients. James stops to have small talk with all of his acquaintances and the usual visitors who recognise him. He is a very warm and welcoming person, always polite and patient too. When needed, James always offers a listening pair of ears or a shoulder to cry to. The imperial love helping others, but he just sometimes neglects himself.

While he is busy helping others, James just sweeps all his own issues under the carpet - or use a spell to sort of... whisk away his problems.

But unfortunately, what you leave behind usually comes back at full force.
