This dragon is traveling from the island of Prufrock in search of a name and a new home!
***
Though many underworld spirits exhibit an affinity for metals, she has a special skill with silver. Anything she makes using that metal is guaranteed to protect the wearer from a variety of supernatural unpleasantries. |
It has always been a tradition in her family's clan that all hatchlings that are old enough start on a long journey to see the world with their own eyes, meet other dragons, other clans and learn whatever there is to learn on their way. And so did Salia. She left together with three siblings, but their ways parted shortly after they reached the mainland. Her brother proudly decided to serve the Arcanist, he claimed to have seen a sign in the stars one night that was calling him to the Observatory. The other two quickly made friends along the road and stayed with them. Soon, only Salia remained. At first, she travelled around the Starfall Islands. She was impressed how huge it actually was! All she knew before was the small island her parents called home. She stayed in many different clans for a short time but never felt exactly at home anywhere. Most dragons were nice to her and she made a few friends but somehow the arcane lifestyle wasn't what she was looking for. She couldn't say what she was looking for, though, but she knew for certain was that it had to be different, much different. |
It was a hard decision, but in the end Salia knew she had to leave her homeland. The first idea that came into her mind, was to travel to the Ashfall Waste. Maybe she would find home where her species originated from. She also hoped to learn more about smithing, especially working with silver, as she had early discovered her talent for working with it. When she passed the shores of the Windswept Plateau, she met a group of four Skydancers. They greeted Salia from afar and came to fly next to her. After a short introduction they already talked to Salia as if they knew her for a long time and told her many stories about their travels. They grew up in the Zephyr Steppes and explored Sornieth together ever since. Right now, they were on their way to the Ashfall Waste as well. Salia felt well being among them. When they weren't telling their stories, they used to sing along the way. She stayed with them until they reached the Blacksand Annex. After parting from her new friends she moved on directly to the Emberglow Hearth. She did meet many Coatls there, and they did welcome her friendly, but again, she didn't feel at home. |
Something was missing, but she couldn't tell what it was. She enjoyed the warmth of the Emberglow Hearth but inside she felt a little colder every day. Not being able to see the stars at night through the thick smoke emerging from forges and volcanos alike made her feel empty. For the first time she actually realised what a close connection she had to the stars. The magic she had always felt in her seemed to slowly fade away. She felt lost. She had settled down in a small Coatl comunity. Most of them were metalworkers but most of them didn't seem to be comfortable with the thought of passing their knowledge to a complete stranger. |
