Cera has spent his whole life experimenting with magic of any kind. Recently he had been experimenting with a tricky arcane spell when it blew up in his face (and all over his colleague). This resulted in bright fuchsia pustules covering his body, though from far away they look like small embed gems. He merely shrugged when it happened, cleaned up his mess and continued to work; Solanum was not so casual and thoroughly scolded him.

Cera has long been mute. Other dragons have speculated as to why and when it may have happened but Cera has never given up his secret. It doesn't bother him for his spells as he can usually get around it, however he may occasionally do a verbal spell in private. Many dragons have tried to surprise him and see if he would speak but that usually ended badly for them; spell components upended on the surpriser, one relatively unruffled surprisee. Solanum doesn't seem to mind his muteness, she always knows how to communicate with him which Cera appreciates.

Cera's life goal is to create a safe and functional teleporter. Since arcane magic deals a lot with space and he interprets earth magic to represent tangibility, he has been trying to work out a formula that will let him reach his end. So far he has created many small spells but nothing that will truly help him attain his goal. In the meantime he will continue to experiment and hope he comes up with something soon.
