As much as they wanted to raise a family, Magnolia and Cypress knew that the region near the lair of the Rootrot Coven was not a safe place for children. If Megwyn were to find the hatchlings, then she would have surely killed them on the spot in order to punish their mother for having them. Outside relationships weren't tolerated, and Cypress couldn't raise the hatchlings on his own. Sorrowful but hopeful, they sent their children away to find a better life somewhere else.
(Name) can't seem to shake the feeling that he's being watched, and can't exactly hide from anyone with such bright colors. His parents' grave warnings about Megwyn really got to his head, and he is afraid that she will come to take him one day. Instead of retreating into seclusion like some dragons might, he has responded by making it his mission to act bizarre enough to get his unseen tormentors to throw their claws up in frustration and leave. He's pretty well-liked by most dragons he encounters because he tells great stories and is entertaining to be around, if a bit eccentric. He usually seems to be in pretty high spirits, as he figures that if someone's out to get him then he might at least have fun until they show up. Plus, maybe they wouldn't want such a conspicuous dragon in their hideout!
