B I O G R A P H Y

______ Anciel is the leader of the rogue group known as The Golden Talons. The group first met as prisoners of the Celestial Queen Kalidos who rules over western Dragonhome. Each of them belonged to different clans that resisted the spread of Kalidos' empire and lost. As a result, the survivors from their clans were imprisoned and sometimes pressed into slavery. While Anciel was several years old when her clan was defeated, most of the group's other members were still hatchlings or even eggs when they became imprisoned.
______ Anciel spent her first years in the Viridian Labrynth, more specifically the Shrieking Wilds, despite having been born to a wind clan. She joined a fierce group of wildclaws who defended their territory viciously, rumored to never have lost a fight. She was gifted at fighting and eventually grew to lead the group after an illness inflicted upon them by a rival clan swept through them and devastated their numbers. Their diminished numbers and strong reputation combined to make the clan a target and for a while they only barely hung on to a fraction of their territory under the onslaught of attacks. Anciel, under the heavy guidance of the clan elder Smoat, was able to bring the clan back to it's former strength after two years of hard work.
______ Since the clan was stable and began expanding their territory again, Anciel realized that a lifetime of constant fighting was no longer something she looked forward to. There were many other dragons who were eager to lead the clan, so she left it to them and journeyed to Dragonhome, where she settled with a small, peaceful clan in the north. The desert was hard to adjust to, but she grew to enjoy it and she became close with his new clan. When the clan heard of Kalidos and her Sacred Empire, they began to fear for their safety. The clan was split over whether they should flee or not, and Anciel was on the side of remaining an defending their land. Eventually the 'stay' side won out and Anciel, the most experienced fighter, began the hard task of teaching the clan how to fight.

B I O G R A P H Y

______ While Anciel did everything she could to prepare her clan to fight the Sacred Empire, the clan fell in the first attack. No one had realized just how big an Empire's army could be, and Anciel was used to the small, guerrilla-style warfare between wildclaw clans. The majority of the clan was killed, and those that survived were separated and imprisoned. Anciel never saw any of them again.
______ The Sacred Empire's military officers noticed how well Anciel fought. She slew seventeen of their soldiers before they captured her. They decided that the best place for her was the fighting pits, and for a long time she lost all hope and her life became a blur of time spent alone in her cell and fights in their coliseum.
______ In many ways, it was Ormissuth who saved her. The spiral had almost reached the age of readiness to fight in the coliseum, and he came up to her and asked her how to win. At first she ignored him, but hewouldn't leave her alone and she eventually gave in. Anciel fully expected to never see him again, but despite all odds he lived through his first fight. He told her that it had been close, but because of her advice he'd managed to win. Anciel didn't have it in her to be optimistic, but she began to teach him more of what she knew and Ormissuth got better and better at the coliseum fight. Eventually two other dragons, Senna and Aza convinced Anciel to tutor them as well.
______ After several weeks of this, Ormissuth had a vision of them escaping imprisonment. It took a week to implement, but they eventually pulled it off. The group escaped on the anniversary of the Sacred Empire's birth when most of the dragons were distracted or drunk, and thanks to Ormissuth's foresight were able to avoid being recaptured. They flew far away from the Empire and supported themselves by doing odd jobs for clans they encountered or outright stealing from them if Anciel believed they were rich enough. They're currently residing in the Sunbeam Ruins, teaching Allu and his scavengers how to fight in exchange for treasure and other things.
