After another great battle at sea, one of the Fishspine Reef's most notorious band of pirates came away with a great chest of treasures. Upon inspecting their haul, the pirates found a mysterious egg amongst the valuables. Curiosity got the better of them, and the egg was hatched there upon the ship. Though the creature from the egg was totally foreign to them, the pirates recognized the deep blue eyes bestowed by the Tidelord. Seeing it as something of an omen, the pirates kept the odd young hatchling and brought her up teaching her the ways of a pirate. She was named like a true pirate- the other dragons looked at the nearest barrel of spirits, and named her after that.

After spending years on the pirate ship she was hatched on, Amaretto had become a highly skilled sailor and merchant. Witty and bold, she quickly moved up the ranks. After the captain of the ship decided to retire from his days of sailing and dissolved his crew, Amaretto took the earnings she'd stashed away and bought a ship of her own. A large but lean thing, she named her ship Dullahan, and went about seeking a crew of her own.

After some time sailing on the open waters, Amaretto decided to seek a permanent home with a larger clan. Other than her first mate Croce, the crew split up and went to seek their own fortunes. By the time she found them, Clan Killarney was already well-established, but was more than happy to have a skilled trader amongst them. Their home in the Beacon of the Radiant Eye gave Amaretto a perfect place to keep Dullahan, and she settled in quickly with the others.

Amaretto became instrumental in the clan's earning of treasure and gems- she exported rare goods won in battle, Perry's teas, and even the occasional dragon. Her business ventures took her around the world, and she was always proud to bring back impressive chests full of gems.

On one of her travels to the Scarred Wasteland, she encountered many Plague merchants, including a young Fae mapmaker. Quite taken with the beauty and accuracy of her maps, Amaretto purchased one for her ship. The Fae offered to help her mount and frame the map in the Captain's quarters, and Amaretto agreed. What she was not expecting was that once on board, the mapmaker, a dragon named Kadath, begged Amaretto to take her along on the ship. The Fae was vague, but Amaretto could sense the urgency and desperation in her request. She granted the Fae's request, and Kadath joined the crew as the Dullahan's official cartographer.

Set on trying to help Kadath get past her dark history, Amaretto took more frequent trips on the sea to distract her. Having a role allowed Kadath to take her mind off things, and develop confidence and identity. The two were instrumental in the discovering the the Redrock Cove, which Kadath quickly mapped out for other clans to find. The two would eventually grow close, and Amaretto and Kadath took each other as mates. Much to Kadath's exasperation, Amaretto loves spoiling her with apparel and new tools for mapmaking. Kadath is also one of the only dragons Amaretto feels fully comfortable letting her guard down in the presence of.
