Biography
He hails from a long line of warriors, many of who live their entire lives in the heat of battle. Guards, soldiers, even vigilantes—Brychon is related to some of the most well-known and honored dragons across Sornieth.
He didn't take to the family tradition as quickly as his siblings did. It took months of convincing from his parents before Brychon willingly began to learn how to fight. Even then, the unwillingness at first caused concern. His family feared that he would turn rogue early on into his life, taking after his late grandfather who refused to become a warrior and disappeared without a trace long ago. He needed to be absolutely devoted to upholding the family tradition in order for his parents to be satisfied and confident in his life direction.
Brychon was still wary of his future as he grew older; he wasn't grounded to the idea of being a warrior vagabond. His family never anchored to a specific flight, always travelling from place to place in search of battles. He had relatives around the globe, but could never visit them as they had no permanent home. That was the main problem he had with the family tradition, among many other smaller problems.
He wanted to protect, but he disliked fighting and would much rather use words than blades if possible. He wanted a home, a place to return to and be welcomed by familiar faces. It was these desires that Brychon kept secret, as his parents would look down upon him if he ever let them know. As he neared maturity, tensions grew between him and his family. His thoughts came out, and his parents attempted to persuade him otherwise...
"But what about other clans? There could be one in danger across the globe and you wouldn't be there to help if you stayed in one spot. What about the rush of battle, the clash of metal against metal? You will grow weak and lazy if you never fight. What's the fun in a normal, everyday, boring life? Fighting is much more active and exhilarating!"
Brychon stayed for only a few weeks longer after his parents began poking and prodding. One night, after a few days of planning, he gathered his belongings and strayed away from the direction his family was traveling. He settled in a clan in the Ashfall Waste, near the border of the water territories. He became a part of a family he chose, one that didn't force him to follow a set of ideals. He never really grew close to any specific dragon in the clan, until Nevermore showed up.
She was a Bounty Hunter, which meant that she was frequently on trips away from home. She stayed within the Ashfall Waste on most jobs, never straying too far into other flight territories while hunting. Even then, she still needed someone to watch her back, to help protect her on dangerous jobs and provide backup. Brychon almost immediately offered to take the position, as he felt most fit for the role. It wasn't just that one reason though, there was something he saw in Nevermore that he didn't want to admit to being jealous of. She had a choice for her life's direction, and chose to be a Bounty Hunter. It was something Brychon knew was a direction some of his relatives took, and that his parents had reluctantly suggested for him to become as a last resort to somewhat keep him from anchoring in one place.
He traveled with Nevermore on many jobs, forming a strong friendship with her after a couple months. They were a great pair. Brychon was rather calm, reserved, and openly kind-hearted, while Nevermore was similar yet somewhat harsher, with a kind heart hidden underneath her thorny attitude. She warmed up to him rather quickly, as he was hard to knock down and proved to be dependable. Brychon wishes, deep down, that there could be something more between them in the future, and feels that Nevermore might feel the same way, despite her keeping to herself more often than not. Until something pushes that wish into a possibility, Brychon is happy where he is in his life. He hardly hears from his blood-family, but doesn't mind as he has a larger, more welcoming family he's chosen to be with.
