GoldenSky

Glistening like a fresh snowfall a streak of pure white weaved through the trees, swift and with ease. Softly landing atop a branch and surveying her surroundings the dragoness focused on her task at hand seeking any signs of disturbance or danger. The dragoness is a beauty called GoldenSky, adept at her job the poor child has been out scouting ahead of her fellow team members for the last three days.

Soft spoken and nurturing in nature GoldenSky takes upon herself to be first in line to protect her clan members. Her beauty gains her many admirers, so many that she reluctantly recluses to the depths of the closest forest in order to escape. When alone she likes to pick flowers in the clearings and sing while she does. Just like her appearance GoldenSky’s singing is angelic, pure and innocent, by choice she would rather not hurt anyone else. when heavily provoked GoldenSky has been known to leave her mark after protecting what she loves.

Although she has many suitors not one has yet to have caught her attention, even though most of them have also shown great beauty, intelligence and good personalities. GoldenSky is adamant that she does not require love in her life to be happy but that does not stop her intensely feeling the loneliness set in when all said and done. She does not actively pursue romantic love since she believes she can live without it however she secretly hopes one day to find that special someone.

When she has collected enough flowers Golden Sky weaves them into intricate designs and wearable apparel gifted them to each clan member she encounters. When faced with new clan members she makes it her job to make them feel as welcome as possible and present them with a personalised garland for their home. Her greatest wish is to have everyone in the clan be happy no matter whether they appreciate her care or not.

After a while, GoldenSky began to wonder if she would ever find a mate, would ever find happiness in her life. It was a day that she joined the clan Messenger, SilverWing, on her daily flight to Message Central. The two were racing through the clouds, weaving through each other's paths randomly in a game to see who would be forced to slow down. When they arrived at the Central, SilverWing collected the usual messages from the Couriers, skimming each one before placing them in her satchel. GoldenSky made her way to the CrossRoads, looking, as she always did for a new clan member awaiting Pick-Up. The road was deserted, as she had expected. Then, from a road leading on a twisting spiral over a hill, she spotted a large SkyDancer Male, his neat gait drawing her attention instantly. His wings flicked down as he readjusted them, sending dancing sparkles into the ground and air. GoldenSky watched him, mesmerised by his glowing scales. He approached her with a kind smile, hiding the immense shyness hidden beneath his facade. "H-hi! I'm Orion, I'm looking for the Spiral Scale C-Clan, is this it?" He asked, still smiling. She had nodded, replying in the same way she always did, stating her name and how she welcomed him to the clan and hoped he enjoyed his stay.

The flight home was uneventful, Orion flew at her side, occasionally touching her wing with his own. SilverWing teased her on her reaction when she had seen the Skydancer, saying that she was madly in love worth him, much to GoldenSkys disagreement. She refused to admit how handsome he was, how her heart fluttered with every glance she sent his way. When they returned back to the clan, StarStealer approached GoldenSky and told her about the delay for new lairs. He asked if she would mind allowing Orion to stay in her cave, if only for a few days. Both Skydancer and Spiral agreed instantly, the start to one of the best friendships the Clan had ever witnessed.

GoldenSky began to spend all of her time with Orion, getting to know him, showing him everything there was to see in the WindSinger domain. Their friendship caught fire, igniting in an everlasting blaze. They were never without each other's company, able to finish each other's sentences without a word shared between them. They move down in together officially, blossoming into something more than a single friendship, something that had the power to last forever.

When the time finally came for them to combine their magic around the reed nests, GoldenSky couldn't think of another dragon for would rather do this with. They locked talons around the nest, eyes closed as the bright white be as of light from the noon high sun shone over them, feeling their powers, melding them together. A shock of energy shot through the Spiral and she knew that before her, the merge had been completed. She shook her scale she mad looked at her mate, then back at their nest for the first time.

Soon after their nesting, once all of their hatchlings had been sent off to new homes, GoldenSky noticed Orions confliction. She could see that he wanted to travel again, that he was torn between staying with her and fulfilling his dreams. She couldn't stand between him, she had to let him go. GoldenSky approached the Skydancer gently, consoling him as she told him to go, to fulfil his dreams. He left not long after this conversation, as much as it pained him. As he lifted off and left the clan, probably never to be seen again, the Spiral shed a single tear.
