Markus is Curiosity's apprentice, and a new member of an ancient guard, tasked with protecting dragonkind. Markus is overconfident and desperate for importance, both of which he sought to satiate by joining the order.

Curiosity is quick to keep his ego in check. In fights, his reckless attitude can easily get him into sticky situations that his mentor has to pull him out of. Still, Markus is eager to help and please others, even if it is to stroke his own ego. As his training has continued, he's found himself growing not only as a fighter but as a dragon. He has begun to find fulfillment in achieving great feats, even though they are still rooted in a need for importance.

Together, Markus and Curiosity, make up the most recent in a long line of guards: an ancient order of skilled fighters once tasked with fighting off the shade, but have begun to die out as the world no longer needed them. The few who have remained in recent times still hold on to their noble traditions, from their unmatched skill, to their armor, to each member's unique weapon, especially crafted for them. Since the shade is all but a distant memory, Markus and Curiosity mostly take to either guarding their clan or tackling problems too dangerous for a normal dragon to handle.
