Every once in a while, a hatchling falls out of the nest. It's not common, nor something that any momma dragon would be proud of, but if it can happen to the rest of the animal kingdom, it can happen in the Southern Icefield.

Riesling has a faint memory of her parents. The cool gentle eyes of her mother looking over the nest and soft hum of her father singing to the babes. But the bulk of her memory is filled the the memories of her wanderings. She isn't sure how she managed to get so far away without anyone realizing, but it certainly happened. She is proof of that.

She quickly learned how to survive on her own. Riesling wandered through the lands of the Icewarden well into adulthood before she decided to take flight and head toward the mainland. There she was determined to learn about all of the deities before settling down in one of their realms. However, the Tidelord had other plans for her and claimed her as his own.

Bernadette was sent to find Riesling by the Tidelord himself. The quiet Skydancer found herself drawn in by the purpose of Bernadette's clan and quickly agreed to come to stay. At the time, she didn't believe that she would stay for any length of time. That changed when she met Merlot, whose devotion runs so deep that Riesling can't bare the thought of leaving him to fed for himself.

Riesling tends to her nests of hatchlings cautiously, determined that her offspring will never find themselves wandering through the Sea of a Thousand Currents.
