Biography

| PALEBLOOD | [♫] Hunter of Hunters
{ Arms Dealer | He/Him | Bi }

One cold, miserable mid-winter night, a rather gruesome stranger blew into the village from the east. He was dressed in clothes unlike any found in Sornieth, carried with him a great number of odd and perplexing weapons, and spoke only when the founders greeted him.

He reeked of spilt blood and gunpowder.

The stench alone was enough to make Dreamweaver want to send him off straight away, but Banrai insisted on hearing his tale.

“There’s a hunt on,” the man said, once they had all retired to the warmth of the founders’ parlor, “where I come from.”

“What sort of a hunt?” Dreamweaver asked.

“Beasts,” the man replied, “of an insidious sort that can only be killed by someone like myself. That’s why I’ve come west.”

“To hunt beasts?”

“Something like that.”

He would say nothing more on the matter. When pressed for answers, he informed the founders that they would be better off not knowing, that some knowledge should not be chased...

...and that chasing knowledge was what had brought his land to ruin in the first place.

They wisely dropped the topic.

Over time, and generally involuntarily, Paleblood has revealed small details about his work and homeland. The beasts he hunts now were once hunters themselves, who lost their bearings and fell into darkness somewhere along the way; the weapons he wields, makes, and sells, known as "trick weapons", are unique to the town he was born and raised in, now overrun by the dead and the dying; anyone he may have loved is gone, having fallen victim to the beasts or to blood-drunk hunters.

His is a terribly bleak story—but, then again, so is everyone else’s, where he comes from.
