Palimpsest's ethereal beauty leads other dragons to assume that she possesses an equally enigmatic personality. In actuality she is talkative, enthusiastic, and frank to the point of well-meaning rudeness. The same wanderlust that led her away from the Windswept Plateau now aids her in traveling the world, searching for specimens to bring home to the Etherium; nothing excites her more than the sight of a previously undocumented species of dung beetle or sea slug which might react unpredictably to arcane energies. When she is not in the field, she spends most of her time recording experimental data and instructing the organization's junior biologists in capturing, preparing, and documenting specimens.

Palimpsest is always accompanied by a bevy of assistants, whom she orders around with impunity. She can often be found chattering away at them in one-sided conversations, piling extra scrolls on their backs, and persuading them to help her capture questionable-looking insects (by jove, these mosquitos are as big my hand!).
