★★★ Revenant feels as if she has always been, fated to rise and fall and then to return. It was how she was made, but not by normal parents. Revenant's mother was the Plaguebringer, birthed from the Wyrmwound into calamity during the infighting of the deities and designed to kill dragons. While she cannot speak, she can scream; and her scream is deadly. During the fighting, she was one of the Plaguebringer's beloved daughters. But once the fighting was over, she was cast aside and forgotten. Her existence from then on was incredibly lonely. She could not speak without killing and she could not die. And so she wandered alone. It was only by chance she came across a dragon who could hear her thoughts. From then on, she always tried to have someone who could be her Voice. There was never any rhyme or reason to who it might be; her Voices have been different genders and species. The only thing they have in common is that they could hear her. Revenant's most recent Voice is a skydancer named Briska, who was actually raised by her in the maze of the Hewn City lovingly called by her the Profane Ruins. She almost considers the skydancer as a daughter, since none of her children had so far survived their childhoods. Their power killed them; needing the blood of a being similar to hers to live. Hopefully she will get that necessary blood in the form of her new mate Szilard. | xxxxxxxxxxxx |
