Biography
Ginkgo
Auditor Chaos always defeats order, because it is better organised. |
Role
As the Manor's auditor, Ginkgo keeps a detailed record of the Vault's contents and is consulted by Hypatia regarding the intricacies of the clan's taxation system (a nerve-wracking process for the entire clan, Al included). Auditors are supposed to be organised and responsible, but sure enough there's such a thing as too organised, and too responsible. Ginkgo keeps the Manor stocked like the apocalypse is imminent, and hoards everything from spare nails to water. In fact, that's what her mobile cacti garden is for - the succulent leaves hold enough water to keep the clan hydrated for a good three days. Personality Ginkgo's powers of persuasion are a thing to behold - she's demonstrated that she can convince literally anyone of anything, and that includes herself. Besides all those tidy habits that she's drilled into her own head, Ginkgo also manages to simultaneously believe in every single conspiracy theory she's heard of. She asserts that this 'just-in-case' sort of thinking has saved her hide many times in the past, but this may have come at the cost of her sanity - Ginkgo is functionally sane in the same way that functionally, anything can be used as a swimming pool if you try hard enough. |
It's a cool place and they say it gets colder
But the meteor men beg to differ Judging by the hole in the satellite picture |
The ice we skate is getting pretty thin
The water's getting warm so you might as well swim My world's on fire, how about yours? |
Background The definition of a desert that most dragons go by is hot, dry and sandy. Ginkgo would like to remind most of the population that technically, only one of these things is true - deserts don't have to be hot or sandy. She's never been to the Shifting Expanse or the Shattered Plain, instead cutting her teeth on a desert far vaster and more inhospitable: the Southern Icefield. One inevitably gains a deep appreciation of water rationing during cold winters when the only sources of the precious commodity are either inaccessibly frozen or intolerably salty.
