In his youth, Petros was tasked with aiding his kin in guarding the border between Light and Shadow. It is a difficult assignment that is handed down only to those of great skill and even greater purity of heart, for the beasts that creep out of the Tangled Wood are quite often Shade-controlled, and it is all too easy to fall prey to their guile.

Petros was among the Shadow Guard’s most elite members. He commanded entire squadrons of clerics, paladins, and knights beneath him, and was a decorated veteran of the force despite his young age.

That is, until something happened.

He has never spoken openly of what occurred on that foggy autumn night. When he recalls the events leading up to his flight from the border, he can only ever manage to describe the evening, how mild it was, how the moon was full and the trees were alive with a comfortable southern breeze, before succumbing to the weight of his memories.

Not even Dreamweaver has been able to dig much deeper, and, truthfully, they do not dare, for fear of what reliving That Night may do to Petros’ psyche.
