Biography
KRYPTON The Mutant  Clan Role: Alchemist (formerly a dancer) Mate: Radioactive Pronouns: she/her Bio: One day when Radioactive was studying with her mentor Baldwin (she had been delighted and amazed along with his other students when he had suddenly changed species) she thought she heard something from behind a shelf of potion ingredients. It sounded like...crying? Upon going to investigate, she found a curious sort of creature who looked very much like Baldwin did now. Upon being asked by the ever-curious Radioactive, Krypton explained her story. She had been a dancer in a very high-class clan who had come earlier that day to the trading post with a few of her clanmates to barter with the Swipp clan. A few of them had been messing around, which turned into a fight. Krypton had come over to tell them to knock it off, but had been tossed hard by the Imperial's tail. Dazed by the blow, she fell towards the ground. Baldwin had happened to look up and see her, and he moved to try and help but, unused to his new limbs still, knocked over his own cauldron with his thick tail. Krypton was drenched with the brew just as she managed to regain her senses and land properly. Immediately she felt pain lace up her spine and a weird tingling sensation rushed her as she felt her body contorting. Annoyed, she yelled at Baldwin and tried to head back over to her clanmates, but flying was suddenly far trickier than it had been. She walked over on limbs that felt heavy and a body that hung low to the ground. Her clanmates shrieked when they saw her and flew off, and that was about when Krypton caught sight of herself in a mirror...well, she was now a hideous monstrosity, so she went and hid. Radioactive assured her she wasn't hideous at all, in fact she looked beautiful! Krypton scoffed but beyond that, she knew she'd never dance again. Her body wasn't as graceful as it had been as a Spiral. Radioactive, never one to give up, assured Krypton that she'd help her, and maybe together they could find a cure to the mutation through the same mechanism that caused it: alchemy. Radioactive herself had fallen into the cauldron as a child, so she understood. Krypton was accepted into Clan Mimsy after that, and she worked with Radioactive at the cauldron every day, slowly learning to live with her new mutation while also looking for a cure. She hates Baldwin and blames him for her current state. She was given a place deep in an underground lair, where it was cool and damp, and the opposite of what used to feel like home to her. Though many dragons don't accept her now, Krypton doesn't even blame them, since she can't accept herself. She's very self conscious about her appearance, and tries to wear whatever will make her feel beautiful again. Without Radioactive's encouragement, she'd probably spend most of her time sulking. |
