Gentiana is a critical component of the the complement of magicians, sorcerers, and enchanters that call Clan Corpse Flower home. Rather than specializing in battle magic (like Achlys and Evonyxis ), she specializes in protective magic. She sets and maintains the clan's wards and uses soothing magic when necessary to keep clan members safe. She rarely travels outside of the clan's boundaries because many of the wards are tied to her.

Personally, she is always willing to lend a hand and is generally liked by most of the clan (although she is a bit too 'nice' for some of those with a harder edge).

The roots of plants in the Gentian genus are commonly used for flavouring bitters. Compounds found in the plants are useful in herbal medicine.
