Quote:
Attack … Attack the dragons.
Beast clan members of all kinds had gathered together to whisper and mumble to others close to them. Their numbers were dwindling. Their explanation seemed to place the blame on the dragon clan that lived within their borders. White eyes flickered around the area as a look of confusion appeared on one of the beast clan member’s faces. Where was this? Where was she? The confused beast stayed quiet as the whispers and mumbling reached her ears.
Attack … run out … Attack the dragons.
Magdalena jolted from her slumber as she looked around the abandoned cave she had called home for the night. The Pearlcatcher stared through the opening of the cave as she caught her breath. The dream felt real to her. It felt too real to be a dream. She gasped as beasts appeared to walk past the cave. There were beast clan members within the vicinity of the cave. They were heading in a direction. She moved to exit the cave from a spot in the wall next to her. Her dream had spooked her; she felt as if the beast clan members were going to attack the dragon clan that she had flown over before finding the cave. Once outside, she spread her wings before taking flight into the night time sky. Her eyes dilated as she spaced out for a moment.
Attack the dragons.
Encarmine was woken from her slumber as a frantic Pearlcatcher had burst into her den. The Fae gave a spooked noise before collecting herself. She landed on a rock near the Pearlcatcher.
“Who are you?” she asked her voice never wavering.
“They’re going to attack,” spoke Magdalena without a breath. “I saw … I saw them. In a dream … they’re going to attack.”
Encarmine didn’t seem to comprehend her words as she spoke them fast. The Fae flew onto Magdalena’s head before moving a wing over her eyes. It seemed to have calmed the Pearlcatcher. The cave’s design reappeared as the wing moved from its position.
“Now, Pearlcatcher, what is your name?”
“Magdalena,” she answered. “And, you must do something. Beast clan members are going to attack your clan.”
The Fae looked startled before she landed on the rock once more to get a better look at the Pearlcatcher, “And how do you know this? Did you see them?”
“Well, I saw some walking by in the cave.”
“And they were speaking of it?”
“N-No,” the Pearlcatcher spoke starting to feel unsure about herself. “I heard them in a dream. Whispering amongst themselves about attacking the dragon clan.”
Encarmine had been startled that time. She had a vision of them wanting to attack their clan. She flew out of the cave before going to wake the others. If they were on the move, the beast clans had time over them. Magdalena stayed where she was within the cave as she didn’t want to move. Nothing of this nature had ever happened to her. She never had visions of the future. The Pearlcatcher feared for what this meant for her. Magdalena had traveled throughout different clans, but she never had a vision for one of them. She jumped as Encarmine had returned to her cave. She stared at Magdalena before clicking her tongue.
“Follow me, Magdalena.” She flew off afterward.
Magdalena followed Encarmine, but she hadn’t taken to the air. When she noticed Encarmine flying toward the borders of the clan, Magdalena had joined her in the sky. The Pearlcatcher gasped as she saw dragons battling beast clan members. It would seem she had made it in time to warn them of the coming attack. Encarmine watched from the sky where they couldn’t be seen. She turned to the Pearlcatcher before bowing her head.
“Thank you for having such a vision. You should stay with us for a few days. I would like to test you further.”
