Biography
Kerendia
Tailor, Tapestry Maker *blank stare* aaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaa aaaaaa aaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaa |
Every clan needs a tailor, or at least someone who can make a random piece of cloth look remotely wearable. In the Aequitas Clan, that task falls to Kerendia. Creator of nearly every single fabric-related item in the lair, it’s difficult to find a dragon who isn’t wearing one of his customized pieces, or find a room without a rug or curtain woven by his own claws. He can often be seen with his collapsible loom, which he carries around with him at all times. He also keeps an entourage of enchanted candles around, though it’s been proven he can make a tapestry blindfolded. Surprisingly, he isn’t the richest dragon in the lair, despite the fact there’s nothing more embarrassing than prancing around without clothes on ( Please note that “raw materials” does not include what comes out of Muffin’s cauldron. Yes, they certainly are materials, but unless you can find someone willing to wear a radioactive and potentially fatal slime tutu, go away. (I said go away, Isfet.) He can usually be found in a corner of the Karma Cafe, weaving away on his loom. His lack of presence means it’s difficult to tell when he’s around, and dragons usually only notice him when there’s nothing less boring to look at. He will, however, accept any offers of a free drink from the Karma Cafe. Buying him a cup of tea will get a nice knitted hat or scarf delivered to your doorstep the next day. Whether it fits you or not depends on how good the tea was. He isn’t talkative, which is good, because someone in this lair has to be quiet - we can’t all be yellers. There’s a rumor that he’s mute, as Kerendia has never actually been heard to speak, but further research will be required to confirm this, research that does not involve throwing a megaphone at him and screaming "SPEAK, CHICKEN DANCER!" (I hope you learned your lesson. Yes, you. You know who I'm talking about.) Kerendia also rarely responds to clanmates, which makes conversations frustrating at times. Unless you’re Vespera or Unnamed and enjoy one-sided conversations. |

Though Kerendia is known better for the clothes and decorations he creates, he seems to enjoy making tapestries the most. The tapestries he weaves for himself are of an unfamiliar pattern unknown to any Beastclan or ancient civilization. Ravanai has noted that they look a bit like some of the relics she’s dug up from the ventilation system, but that wouldn’t explain why Kerendia would put them in his weavings. It’d help if she could compare his work to those relics, but though many dragons have seen Kerendia in the process of creating one of those strange tapestries, nobody has ever seen him complete them, as he will immediately shred his works in frustration upon completion. The shredded bits are usually recycled as pillow stuffings. After noticing those pillows tend to give hatchlings nightmares, Kavleyn pawned them off to Unnamed, who then spent several feverish weeks in the infirmary convinced Vespera had poisoned her out of spite. (Vespera pointed out that of all the dragons who wanted to poison Unnamed, she’s the most unlikely one to actually attempt using poisons. While this is true, it’s better if Unnamed doesn’t find out.) Kerendia gets along surprisingly well with Astraea. It helps that she’s far too forgetful to know how to hold a conversation or remember whether Kerendia had responded to her during the conversation. The two usually spend their time staring blankly at each other and occasionally slowly nodding, which is weird to everyone else but works for them. Nanshe occasionally joins them, though he’s become rather afraid of Kerendia after the clothes maker depleted most of his feathers to make a curtain for the Karma Cafe. To be fair, it probably wasn’t intentional, since Nanshe had been sitting right next to his loom. Besides, they’ll grow back. Nothing to worry abou - for Arcanist's sake, stop crying! Kerendia somehow manages to keep up with the latest fashion trends despite the fact he never seems to pay attention to anything. Or maybe the fact that he’s able to keep up means he pays attention, even when he doesn’t look like he is? It’s difficult to tell how much he really knows when he refuses to acknowledge ongoing conversations, even those yelled at his face. Then again, the last time he “acknowledged” a conversation, he threw a set of knitting needles in Vespera’s face. Aside from weaving, Kerendia isn’t really known to do much else. He takes orders, retreats to his den or the cafe, and then emerge several hours later with a perfectly tailored outfit or some kind of hanging wall decor. Rinse. Repeat. Perhaps he does do other things, but the rest of the clan doesn’t pay much attention to him beyond the fact that he’s a bit weird, mute, and in charge of making them all look pretty. It is noted that he seems to enjoy listening to music, however, so he can often be found near one of the ventilation shafts, quietly listening to the melody that faintly winds through the airways. He gets extremely agitated when the melody stops playing. Any works created during this agitation period will feature bloody battlefields and scenes of pain and suffering too gruesome to describe. Nephthys collects them. |

What is Fate? Good? Evil?
But Fate is not just good or evil. Fate is all. It is only ever good or evil when perceived by others, and it is the perception of mortals that determine its personality. Is it selfish, you ask? Does it do things for its own reason? My dear mortal, how am I to do that...if I am everything? |
