Born and raised in the Scarred Wasteland, Vetoxiation had a history with appearing in the mix of horrible situations, pillaging whatever she could, and then disappearing without a trace besides the marks of her once-alchemy stained claws on the corpses that she personally took care of. The activities of the original herd she was born in began to bore her, it seemed like it was just fading, being replaced and recycled by the Plaguebringer like machinery more often than she liked. Out of everyone, she believed she was the most prosperous, so she abruptly left in search of a different place she could creep through without suspicion.

Retrograde’s clan was the easiest option she’d come upon - a Matriarch of a loosely organized clan with barely any members, and one who had amnesia. It was the perfect place to set up her plans, and set up she did. She soon became known as the lesser Matriarch of the clan, and took up the alchemy role Retrograde so wished to learn, yet could never wield anything without breaking it or leaving it to drown for too long. With a title as a lesser Matriarch, it didn’t seem to far off to Veto that she could just get rid of Retrograde and become the single Matriarch herself, and control the dimwitted band of dragons herself to further her parasitism.

But even by taking every chance presented to her and even leading Retrograde to a place where other dragons would surely kill her, it seemed like she’d never leave. She was always there, and Vetoxiation was always stuck as the Lesser Matriarch and the leader of a profession that many of the clan wished to try or even take over from her. Her presence as a Plague Mirror even dwindled in Buke’s presence, who surpassed her in everything but her alchemic powers. To the realisation she was forever stuck in this position, she tried just leaving the clan altogether. She’d disappear into her caves, lock herself in, and dig them deeper and farther until she would be far enough to escape, but no matter how long she dug, she never came to a spot the clan didn’t frequent, and soon she had other Mirror’s using her underground as homes and places to practice using Alchemy when Baldwin was unavailable or too crowded. There was no way to escape the clan, to escape the fortress Retrograde had built around her overtime. The only escape Vetoxiation could create would have to be found in the graves of others.

____Evangelion was supposed to be just like all the other hatchlings unlucky enough to go into her talons. She would teach them little about alchemy, mostly use them as fetchers of ingredients she needed, and then make them vanish without a trace, usually into other dragons talons at the excuse of them going to serve the Shadowbinder. Some did go to serve her, others disappeared and were never seen again. But Evangelion, even when she was grown, stayed. She was always there, and getting increasingly good at alchemy too despite never being taught by Veto.

____So Vetoxiation fought to just get rid of her for as long as she could while her final plans were enacted. She may have been liked by Retrograde, but Veto was her own mother by blood, so she ordered Evangelion to leave the clan and not come back until she’s traveled every land, and brought ‘it’ back with her as ‘proof she had visited those of other watch’. This task was never meant to be completed. She hoped Evangelion would get kidnapped or would starve trying to find food alone, and with her gone, she could continue the evil of her newfound profession.

____Since the moment Vetoxiation decided she would tear down the clan who imprisoned her in it’s walls, she had found connections with those who seemed to be making enemies with the clan’s selected members. The IEN Siblings, a band of assassines. With a direct connection to one of the Siblings, she began her role as a passway point for assassin's with the IEN Siblings, and even became a partial one herself for undercover dragons who wished to stop the Siblings.

____But no matter what Vetoxiation did, and no matter how far she got, she was still restricted with the wounds she had gotten from the plague she still carried long ago from the Wasteland. Her wings refused her flight, no matter how temporary, so she could no longer reach the secret meeting place with one of the siblings. So in the last meeting she could manage before her wings fully gave out, they assigned a group of assassins to continue with her work, under her supervision. Who would've thought a single wing injury could lead to the death of hundreds of dragons?

She will fall.
One day, she will fall under my talons.
I will wait till the end of time for that day.

There was a horrific silence filling the halls. Not a single dragon dared to make a sound, or move from their resting places, all wide awake no matter how hard sleep tried to pull them down. It was impossible to sleep, not with the pressure of the silence still abundant.

They all waited, and waited, for something to happen to constitute the silence, and as soon as it seemed it would never come - the hatchet in the main area was slowly creaked open, and the sound of something crawling out from the passage under the hatchet echoed down every weaved bed and tunnel system created by the clan.

It made no other sound than the faint tapping of it's claws on the occasional paved path and the sound of it's wings brushing against the walls and doors of the halls. Every dragon in the area stared forward to where the thing could enter from, just waiting to see something barreling toward them from the hall. Only a small few could actually fight off a dragon, and the chances it would attack them over anyone else in the lair was slime to none.

Occasionally a passage way's entrance was slid open, and the tapping of claws was then accompanied by items being tossed to the ground and the sounds of glass being shattered from the rummaging. Every foraging would end in the same silence that started it, and the tapping down the halls would continue once again...
