B I O G R A P H Y ______ No one knows where Memories came from. He simply showed up one day in the lair of the Apolkyrfas, looking so calm and natural and as if he belonged there that no one questioned him, not even Fortune. After the initial shock of his appearance wore off, the other dragons began to treat him as if he had been with them from the beginning, which he might as well have. Memories knew things that others had long forgotten, despite not even having been at the events. It was almost frightening, looking at the demure Coatl and knowing that he knew almost everything about you and yours. ______ But no one could be scared of Memories. Who could be? The dragon exuded calm and trustworthiness. Most went to him for help with their problems or simply to talk or pour out their problems. He only listened and nodded and murmured sympathetically, and he never told anyone what the dragons told him. But he also never forgot. ______ Eventally, the Coatl was officially recognized as the recordkeeper of the clan. He already took down notes of everything that happened, despite his own extensive memory of events - which never seemed to forget anything - so it was only a matter of official recognition. His aura of calm and reassuring confidence also led to his being chosen as the spokesdragon of the clan. Memories always knew what to do, and if he didn't, he knew how to make it sound like he did. He was the perfect choice. ______ A month after his arrival, a second Coatl staggered into the lair and into Memories' heart, much to his surprise. He never believed that he would love anyone who wasn't one of his books. He was the one who took care of her, who nursed her back to health slowly and surely. In their late-night conversations he found a supremely intelligent Coatl who made quiet but philosophical observations about the world, a Coatl who loved books and the smell of the first flowers of spring, a Coatl who refused to talk about her past or the prophecy she had uttered and rather smiled mysteriously at him whenever he asked, and he fell harder than he could have imagined he would ever.

H I S T O R Y ______ "Don't forget, Zalari! Promise me! Don't forget me!" ______ Gasping, sobbing. I promise. I promise. I could never forget. I will never forget. I promise. ______ The young Coatl jolted out of his makeshift nest, wings spreading open and fire-orange eyes jerking wide. He staggered forward, breathing quickly, and looked over the land spread beneath the cliff he had been calling home for the past few days. The sun had only reached a couple rosy fingers over the horizon, the light leaving a few areas of the forest in tinted color. ______ He panted quietly, soft breaths showing in the cool morning air. He never remembered what got him this way. It was a dream, he knew that, but what was it about? He couldn't recall what happened...only that someone needed him. He needed to do something. Something important, something he couldn't forget. He needed to save them! ______ But who? The male dragon gazed hopelessly over the beautiful terrain. He couldn't do anything if he never remembered anything. He couldn't do help anyone if he kept on forgetting. Who did he need to help? Whose pleas were crying out so desperately in his mind? Where were they? Where was he? Who was he? He couldn't remember. He couldn't remember anything at all.
