~ SUNCHASER ~
 LIGHT REPRESENTATIVE "It’s not a battle between light and dark, a clash of good and evil. No, it’s a balance of opposing ideals and morals, that is all." ROLE ~ One of the Light representatives of the clan. Sunchaser takes it upon herself to compete with Starshine for the roles and responsibilities of Light representative. Her only unique role is that of a philosophical teacher. DESCRIPTION ~ Sunchaser is another philosophical rep who loves nothing more than challenging young and old dragons with Socratic sessions. However, despite being a devout philosopher, and of the cowardly pearlcatcher breed, Sunchaser is just as capable on the battlefield, and can be rather merciless, especially towards Beastclans, for reasons unknown and likely best left unsaid. She was not born a pearlcatcher but rather a skydancer. Her devotion to the truth transformed her into a proper child of Light. Sunchaser is easy-going and generally gets along well with all her clanmates. However, she has a clear disdain for imperials, which is generally mutual. She especially despised the other Light rep, seeing the imperial as an uneducated brute and an obsessive tail-kisser. Frostbite has had to break up fights between the two many a time. Sunchaser collects knowledge and wisdom. Her prized possessions are the thoughtful conversations and debates she has with other members. |

HISTORY ~
Weaver's Champion
Sunchaser was once part of a peaceful, scholarly clan known as the Brightails. They researched, studied and examined the land around them, trying to uncover clues to ancient mysteries. Until one day, they made a grave error. While charting out their latest area of interest they had accidentally encroached on a recovering Beastclans settlement. Already weary from previous conflict they did not take the lurking dragons well, viewing them as further hostile threats. They retaliated with great force and fury, descending upon the Brightails before they could begin to explain themselves or flee. Then, it was over. Sunchaser was all alone, having escaped the fray as she was younger and smaller. Fleeing to an old abandoned tower where she would lie for days. Her thoughts and feelings twisted and bubbled within. If only we had been stronger. It began. If only I had been stronger. I will be strong. I must be. Slowly but surely these thoughts morphed into an ultimatum, she was to become a paladin for the Lightweaver. A holy warrior smiting those that interferes with the Light god’s mission of discovery and enlightenment. All the teachings of pacifism, do no harm, and the sanctity of all life were gone. Jumpy from the encounter and convinced she must start by spreading light elsewhere she fled the Sunbeam Ruins, traveling southeast until she reached her destination, the Southern Icefield. There she met a most intriguing fellow, a tundra, Frostbite, who was assembling his own humble clan. A clan that needed powerful warriors and ambassadors of the eleven elements. From their meeting Sunchaser learned that Frostbite himself was a proud warrior, championing his own goal for his patron, collecting and preserving the world’s everything. Originally thinking she’d only stay a couple nights, Sunchaser soon felt at home at the Crystalspire Palace. The dragons she’d met there felt like family, and she’d never been as happy as she was training her battle skills. She represented the Lightweaver, but she was no longer a vengeful holy warrior, nay, she had a further purpose. She was destined to be the Light rep of this clan, guiding and protecting its members with her light.
Then, came the tipping point, The Bounty of the Elements. Upon news of the first emperor in decades the breed feud between the pearlcatcher and the imperial reps exploded. Both reps were aghast in horror, but Sunchaser went farther. She wanted all imperials exiled from the clan, for they were clearly a danger. They of course took great offense to this, Starshine and the mortician especially. Frostbite was making bad decisions left and right, thankfully this is one decision he denied. Even he could find clear fault in this line of thinking. Instead he declared all members were to learn of the proper imperial burial techniques and take extreme caution when dealing with the breed. Any sick or injured imps were to be monitored closely. A good call, but denying Sunchaser her twisted view of justice might just have severed her respect for the tundra.
Interestingly during the Great Tension, the pearlcatcher sided with the guardian. Thought to be because she could see the writing on the wall and wanted favor with the new ruler. Though she insists her feelings are sincere. Solstice was also a powerful warrior, even stronger than Frostbite, this was a worthy leader indeed! Nevertheless she has goaded the Queen many a time to do something about the imperial menace to no avail.
SHINING SOLDIERS ~
Rayveam helps test Sunchaser's battle skills daily. As such, the shining soldier is the closest of the pearlcatcher's familiars.
Dawna is Sunchaser's first contact with the Lightweaver. Negotiating expeditions peacefully as possible. When off duty Sunchaser has the goblin helps her spy on the imperials of the clan, especially Starshine. In recent years this obsessive behavior has gotten worse.
Glowscious Luminoss the second came to Crystalspire seeking an alliance on behalf of his small faun clan, the Lumiknights. They proposed a beneficial trade and share of knowledge, an overlooked but most valuable currency. Their proposal was accepted and he now spends most of his days sharing his clan's latest breakthroughs and discoveries with the Light rep. They asked to specifically work with Sunchaser, explaining, quite embarrassedly, that they were too fearful of imperials, all because of the bedtime stories he heard about the monstrous emperors. In the beginning things were tense. Sunchaser had a colorful history with Beastclans, and met the faun with great skepticism and hostility, but Glowscious was patient and understanding, getting to know the pearlcatcher gradually and gaining her trust though acts of kindness and sincerity. These efforts payed off as the faun is likely the only Beastclan Sunchaser respects and trusts. As the two share their knowledge Sunchaser tries, at every turn, to make the faun hateful towards the larger breed, not just cautious. The wise Glowscious does their best to humor her rantings, but remains unswayed. In more recent years the arrival of an actual emperor has the faun conflicted. Nevertheless, if he were afraid of imperials now, what good would it do to make them true enemies?
Canciaa watches the stars, reading what the future holds and keeps an eye out for magical phenomena.
Relicana scampers about the castle grounds, acting as a mobile, mini beacon should Sunchaser need one. When not on duty the slink spends time with the pearlcatcher Light rep, cheering her on as she hones her combat skills.
RELATIONSHIPS ~

Sunchaser seems to like and respect Solstice much more than Starshine. Perhaps it is part of their game of one-upping each other, but the pearlcatcher seems genuine about her new allegiance.

Frostbite appreciates Sunchaser’s talents and skills, though he would prefer it if she stopped insulting the imperials so much, and especially if she stopped trying to slice Starshine’s face off every time the two are in the same room. Sunchaser doesn’t particularly care for the leader but does not complain. It is a waste of breath and she understands her high position is not invincible. Nothing will stop her prejudice against imperials or Beastclans however.

Their joint titles as Light reps should mean the two get along for the better of the clan, however, what has instead occurred is a fierce and childish rivalry where each party tries to undermine and overshadow the other. Whether it be defeating the most enemies, securing the greatest loot, or leading the most successful expedition these two will claw and scratch to get one over the other. They are also not above sabotage and physical fights on especially bad days. Healthy rivalry is one thing, but these two go far beyond 'healthy'.
