It wasn't hard for Candy to make friends. She gathered people around her like honey might gather bugs. They were attracted to her sweet, cheery calm and got stuck in it. Her smiles were easy and spread peace throughout the clan and none asked questions about it. Who would ask questions about something good? Only a fool. People didn't look gift familiars in the mouth and they didn't look at a peace maker's past. Her present was all that mattered. She prayed that that would stay the same the rest of her life.
