Biography

Singe
Representative of Fire

fire.png Emberglow Gem Guardian Conflagrant Ambassador

firerune_zps1c9fae17.png Singe comes from a clan of balance. Everything has its opposite, and everyone has a place. Singe knows and accepts that she does not have the authority here to change the clan, but she states her opinions and ideas proudly, so that the clan founders might listen. But everything balanced is not stable, as Singe prefers to believe. She saw her clan as one of beautiful and varied passions, everyone connected through their strong belief in themselves. Unbeknownst to Singe, her old clan has disbanded, driven apart from the constant fighting between dragons who were so opposite one another.
Since joining the clan, Singe has become infatuated with Merlain. She has told him so multiple times, being blunt when subtlety failed, but Merlain still seems oblivious to what Singe is trying to say. She finds it impossible to tell if Merlain is actually unaware of her advances, or their intent - which seems unlikely, given her more recent directness - or if he recognizes how Singe feels and is too polite, or doesn't know how, to turn her down.

Maybe I'm going a little off-brief here, but Singe reminds me of a warm, cozy fire on a cold winter night. The dark blue/purple is like that of the sky shortly after the sun sets - with those last bits of scattered light still barely visible. The darker black areas are like the soot and charcoal in a fireplace, where one might enter a home to leave a little gift behind ;)

Flameforger's.
Singe reveled in the festivities. Never did the thought occur to her to find her old clan; she loved the one she had back in her new Labyrinth home. Instead, she socialized. Flitting from clan to clan, the Fae talked to everyone and joined everyone's celebration, gathering news about the Ashfall Waste. Over the course of the festival, Singe's information expedition gradually brought her all the way up to the Great Furnace.
She marveled at the workshop. Singe had seen it before, of course, but that was before she even left Ashfall. When she had first come here to request a meeting with her god.
Her nostalgia overcame her, and she grew careless. The tiny Fae disappeared into the sights and sounds of the huge forge.
Two ridgebacks carrying a large crucible marched by. "GANGWAY!" one yelled. The crucible swung side to side. Singe fluttered out of the way, but too slow. The giant crucible swung toward her and swatted her through the air. She felt bones break. A few were in her wings. Unable to control her flight, Singe careened past the edge of the path and fell, nearly unnoticed, into the Furnace.

Heat distracted her from her pain. Singe found herself floating. She tried to look around, but her surroundings were too bright to open her eyes. She knew this place.
"Little one," boomed a voice, tinged with pity.
"Mather," Singe replied respectfully.
"You are reckless, and that suits you, as my representative," lauded the Flamecaller. "But recklessness does not suit a fragile Fae body."
Singe started to remember her broken bones. "Am I dead?"
"You would be, if you were not a dragon who has caught my attention before. Because I like you, I will help you."
Singe started to ask what Flamecaller meant, but suddenly felt tired. She should nap. Flamecaller would keep her safe. Blackness overcame her. The last thing she remembered was feeling... heavy...

Singe's eyes snapped open. She was outside the Great Furnace, apparently having been sent adrift on one of the many rivers of lava cascading down. She still felt heavy. Singe tried moving her fins, but they moved quite differently now. And her arms... she kept favoring standing on all fours.
Flamecaller's voice echoed in her mind. "No longer will you flit and fret, child of Fire. You are a Guardian: large, armored, and imposing. No one can miss you now."
Singe stood up and raised her head. She felt so high off the ground - as though she should be flying, but her feet were still firmly planted on rock. Speaking to empty air, she said the first question on her mind. "Do-" She paused, getting used to her new low growl, then continued: "Will I have a Charge?"
"While I do so enjoy my brother's idea, you do not. It is not for me to decide."
"What about my ambassador work?"
"I have marked you; they will know you are mine. Return to your clan without worry. Use your loud, strong voice to inspire passion in their souls."
