Though, after his father was sold to a different clan and his mother went into hibernation out of heartbreak, he didn't have much tying him down to the clan. To make matters worse, he was almost sold at the auction house, but no one seemed to want him. After the second time, he decided enough was enough and packed a bag, and made off in the night.

Most would think one would want to stay home. Those that have no knowledge of how many dragons choose to leave their homes don't understand why other's would leave. For Caelen, it was the loss of his family and his clan trying to sell him when pressed for gold. He had never really thought that his own clan, those that help raise him would ever pawn him off as they had tried to do. He left that same night, they tried to sell him, so he knew they'd try again at any moment, so he left. He took his Trunker, Min, with him, and a few of his own items and belongings and left as if he'd never been there.

For him, it was freeing to finally leave. This was finally his chance to explore! To meet other dragons, to learn so much more than what was within the confines of his home. He hadn't been allowed to go far from the clan's main system, seeing as he'd been young. But he was an adult now, and he was ready for whatever awaited him.
