xxxxxLong ago, when I was just a young dragon, being different was bad. Everyone had to follow society's rules and look the way society wanted them to. If you refused to- or even if you couldn't bring yourself up to society's standards- you were considered an outcast. This meant that you were ignored and given the lowest priority. It was a harsh life. xxxxxMy life was exactly that. An outcast with virtually no appreciation from anyone. What was my difference, you ask? The spots on my wings, of course. For the longest time, wings with such a loud and bright pattern were frowned upon, and my wings were the strangest anyone had ever seen. Like many other outcasts, I left my clan; leaving was a pleasant surprise for those who didn't dare to strive for sticking out. xxxxxI was hurt from the abandonment and isolation I was forced into, but I was determined to stay strong. This determination led me to begin my own clan. One where being different was welcomed- no, encouraged! It was then I found Miku. xxxxxJust like me, Miku was seen as an outcast in his clan. However, he didn't have outrageously spotted wings like mine. Instead, he had feathers that shined brilliantly in the light like diamonds. While they were a dark black color, rainbow specks shone against him when he was under the sun's bright light. He was absolutely beautiful. He also had the same dream as me. xxxxxMuch time has passed since me and Miku met, and times have greatly changed. Being different is now welcomed with open arms in nearly every clan across the land. But Miku and I still held onto our dream of starting our own clan. We're both young and inexperienced yet, but I know if we work hard at our dreams, we'll achieve a large and happy clan. |
